  • Publication number: 20080066449
Abstract: There is provided an oxidizing catalyst located in the upstream of the exhaust gas purifying catalyst. The catalyst capacity of the oxidizing catalyst is set so that, in the relationship between a value obtained by dividing exhaust flow velocity by the catalyst capacity (exhaust flow velocity/catalyst capacity) and catalyst activatibility, when the exhaust flow velocity is exhaust flow velocity at the time of idle operation of the internal combustion engine, the catalyst activatibility is maximum (prescribed maximum activation range) and the value obtained by dividing the exhaust flow velocity by the catalyst capacity is maximum or close to the maximum.

  • Publication number: 20060082121
Abstract: A steering gearbox mounting structure having an intermediate bracket mounts a steering gearbox for steering wheels of a vehicle on a subframe of the vehicle. The intermediate bracket has a breakable portion which breaks when a force greater than a predetermined force is applied to the breakable portion to provide an impact absorbing stroke of an engine of the vehicle. The breakable portion may have a thin portion such as a plate or a recess portion and is more breakable in the traveling direction than the width direction. First and second intermediate brackets may be used which include first and second kinds of breakable portions that are breakable in different modes, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20050234409
Abstract: A catheter which allows injection into a target region without imposing large burden on a medical patient can be provided. A catheter (1) is used by being inserted from outside of a body into a blood vessel and a distal end thereof being reached inside of a heart, that is a target region, while a proximate end thereof remaining outside of the body. The catheter (1) is configured in a way so that an injection mechanism (5) conducts injection into myocardium from inside of a heart while a forceps mechanism (3) holds myocardium inside of the heart. In the forceps mechanism (3), a grasping portion (13) provided at the distal end of the catheter (1) opens and closes in conjunction with manipulation at a first handling portion (11) provided at the proximate end of the catheter (1).

  • Publication number: 20050229589
Abstract: An exhaust gas purifying device for an engine according to the present invention includes a NOx absorbing catalytic converter provided in an exhaust path of the engine, an exhaust light oil adding injector which supplies a reducing agent component into the exhaust path, a control unit which executes the rich spike operation that controls an air-fuel ratio to the rich side per predetermined time, which adds the HC component to the NOx absorbing catalytic converter, and which heats to an S purge temperature or higher so as to eliminate a sulfur component absorbed by the NOx absorbing catalytic converter, and a catalyst temperature measuring sensor which measures the temperature of the NOx absorbing catalytic converter, wherein the control unit controls an operation cycle of the rich spike operation based on the deviation of the S purge temperature with respect to the temperature measured by the catalyst temperature measuring sensor.

  • Publication number: 20030163154
Abstract: A balloon catheter capable of expanding a narrowed site of a blood vessel in the vicinity of a curved part of the blood vessel, and of easily adapting the shape of the balloon to the shape of the curved part of the blood vessel. The balloon has a shape with a curved part, and the outer portion of the curved part (the shaded area) formed so as to have a smaller film thickness as compared with the remaining portion of the balloon is stretched by an amount larger than the remaining portion of the balloon. The difference in stretch amount between the outer portion of the curved part of the balloon and the remaining portion of the balloon becomes larger as the internal pressure of the balloon is increased. Accordingly, the extent of curve of the balloon can be controlled arbitrarily by controlling the internal pressure of the balloon.
