  • Publication number: 20120086817
Abstract: A digital camera is provided that includes an imaging module and a first wireless communication module. The first wireless communication module is used to perform radio communication with a monitor device separated from a camera body. A volume of data being transferred per unit time is reduced compared to a volume of moving-image data transferred via wired communication to display the moving image, when moving-image data obtained by the imaging module being transferred to the monitor device uses the first wireless communication module.

  • Publication number: 20120086818
Abstract: A digital camera is provided that includes a first wireless communication module and image data processor. The first wireless communication module transmits image data to a monitor device via wireless communication. The image data processor processes image data before transmitting it to the monitor device via the wireless communication module. The image data processor has a first mode in which the image data are compressed at a predetermined compression ratio when transmitting a through-the-lens image to the monitor device, and a second mode in which the image data are compressed less than the predetermined compression, including zero compression, while carrying out at least one of reducing a frame rate compared to the first mode or extracting part of an image comprising the image data.

  • Patent number: 8149586
Abstract: A tray keying mechanism is mounted on a backplane inside a modular chassis and has a protrusion that stands out like a post for each of several equipment bays. A modular tray can be inserted into each of the equipment bays, but it will not be allowed to be fully inserted and to engage the electrical connectors on the backplane if the corresponding post meets an obstruction on the rear apron of the tray. If the particular tray is the correct type, and is not upside down, the post will encounter no obstructions during the insertion of the tray, and the electrical connectors will be allowed to engage. In one embodiment, the keying mechanism comprises a bracket of molded plastic that fits all around the several connectors on the backplane, and could be patterned to fit an already existing and in-service backplane and chassis.

  • Patent number: 8115839
Abstract: According to the present invention, an image signal processor, comprising a receiver, a mixing block, and an adjustment block, is provided. The receiver receives first, second, and third color pixel signals which an imaging device outputs. The mixing block generates first, second, and third color mixed pixel signals. The first, second, and third color mixed pixel signals are generated by mixing the first, second, and third color pixel signals generated by all the first, second, and third color pixels occupying a space of which the area is a second predetermined area whose the center is in agreement with the center of the first, second, and third color mixed pixel areas, respectively. The adjustment block adjusts the signal levels of the first, second, and third color mixed pixel signals based on first, second, and third pixel numbers.

  • Publication number: 20120033470
Abstract: A correction-term adder 1 compares a maximum value max(V*) with an absolute value of a minimum value min(V*). The correction-term adder 1 selects a signal 1?max(V*) when the maximum value max(V*) is larger than the absolute value of the minimum value min(V*), on the other hand, selects a signal ?1?min(V*) when the absolute value of the minimum value min(V*) is larger than the maximum value max(V*). Thereby, a signal of correction amount ? is calculated. Moreover, the correction-term adder 1 produces a triangular-wave-shaped signal k(max(V*)+min(V*)) by multiplying a gain k by an addition signal max(V*)+min(V*) of the maximum value max(V*) and the minimum value min(V*). This triangular-wave-shaped signal k(max(V*)+min(V*)) is synchronized with the correction amount ?.

  • Patent number: 8104963
Abstract: Provided is a shaft member for a fluid dynamic bearing device, which is excellent in wear resistance and which can exert a high dynamic pressure effect. A shaft material (11) is rolled to form a recess (7) for causing a dynamic pressure effect of a lubricating oil in a radial bearing clearance (6). In this case, in a surface layer portion (14) of the recess (7) to be formed in an outer peripheral surface (11a) of the shaft material (11), a first hardened layer (14a) is formed by rolling. At the same time, also in a surface layer portion (15) of a surrounding region (8) of the recess (7), a first hardened layer (15a) is formed by rolling at a partial region thereof. After the recess (7) is formed by the rolling, barreling is applied to the shaft material (11). As a result, an outermost surface layer portion of the surface layer portion (15) is formed with a second hardened layer (15b) by the barreling.

  • Publication number: 20120019392
Abstract: A USB charger comprises a power input, a microprocessor, a resistor network, and a USB port for charging electronic devices through the USB port. The USB charger defaults to provide 2000 mA when power is applied through the power input. When a device is detected at the USB port, it measures device current drain to determine if it is charging. If the device is charging, then it remains in the 2000 mA charging mode. If no current drain is detected, the power supply switches to 1000 mA. If the electronic device recognizes the proper charging network it will begin charging. When the microprocessor detects current drain, it leaves the charging network as is. If still no current drain is detected, the USB microprocessor will attempt the 500 mA charging current. If there is a current drain, it will leave the charging network as is. If no current drain is detected, then it indicates a fault and a LED flashes to indicate the fault.

  • Patent number: 8023744
Abstract: A pattern matching system that outputs an likeness values, comprising a designation block, a comparison block, a calculation block and an output block, is provided. The likeness value shows how much a first and second image compares to each other. The designation block designates a first and second image data as data to be compared. The first and second image data comprises 2^x of area data. The comparison block compares the data level of the area data corresponding to pattern areas at the relatively same location in the first and second images. The calculation block calculates the likeness value. The likeness value varies according to the number of the pattern areas where the absolute value of the difference between the compared data levels of the area data is less than a predetermined standard value.

  • Patent number: 7990417
Abstract: A targeted object pursuit system comprising a first setting block, a second setting block, a recognition block, a first determination block, a second determination block, and a re-designation block is provided. The first setting block initially designates a partial area as a pursuit area. The second setting block designates the areas displaced from the pursuit area as candidate areas. The recognition block extracts a standard image and candidate images. The first determination block determines in which general direction the targeted object moves is the first or second general direction. Based on the determination made by the first determination block, the second determination block determines in which of the first, second, third, or fourth detailed direction the targeted object has moved. The re-designation block re-designates a candidate area as the new pursuit area.

  • Patent number: 7966508
Abstract: A mode-switching system, comprising plural switches, a timer, and a controller, is provided. The mode-switching system switches an operation mode of a first unit to one of normal and power-saving modes. The plural switches separately correspond to plural specific functions. Each of the specific functions is carried out when the corresponding switch is switched on. The timer clocks the elapsed time since the switching operation is carried out for any of the switches. The controller switches the operation mode to the power-saving mode from the normal mode when the elapsed time exceeds a threshold value determined for the switch for which the latest switching operation has been carried out. The threshold value is determined individually for each of the switches.
