  • Patent number: 9667369
Abstract: A video signal and an audio signal are TMDS transmitted from a source device to a sink device. Through a reserved line and a HPD line provided separately from a TMDS transmission line, an Ethernet™ signal is bidirectionally transmitted, and also, a SPDIF signal is transmitted from the sink device to the source device. The Ethernet™ signal bidirectionally transmitted between Ethernet™ transmitter/receiver circuits is differentially transmitted by an amplifier and is received by the amplifier. The SPDIF signal from a SPDIF transmitter circuit is common-mode transmitted from an adder and is received by the adder to be supplied to the SPDIF receiver circuit.

  • Patent number: 9667934
Abstract: Transmission of HDR image data is satisfactorily performed between apparatuses. A transmission apparatus (synchronized apparatus) transmits the HDR image data to a reception apparatus (source apparatus) over a transmission path. At that time, the transmission apparatus transmits information on a transmission method for and/or information on gamma correction for the HDR image data to the reception apparatus over the transmission path. The reception apparatus performs processing (decoding processing, gamma correction processing, and the like) on the received HDR image data, based on the information on the transmission method and/or the information on the gamma correction that are received. For example, the transmission apparatus receives from the reception apparatus the pieces of information on the transmission method and/or the gamma correction that the reception apparatus can support, selects the method that the reception apparatus can support, and thus uses the selected method.

  • Publication number: 20170094287
Abstract: A conversion from a dynamic range conversion image into a desired image is performed in a favorable manner. A setting unit sets a plurality of items of knee position information about a conversion from a first dynamic range image into a second dynamic range image. An encoding unit encodes the second dynamic range image to generate encoded data. A determination unit determines priority order of the plurality of items of knee position information. An adding unit adds the plurality of items of knee position information to the encoded data of the second dynamic range image, with the priority order given to the plurality of items of knee position information.

  • Publication number: 20170070701
Abstract: HDMI transmission of uncompressed image data, on which dynamic range processing is performed, is performed from an HDMI source device and a display in appropriate luminance is performed in an HDMI sink device. When HDMI input switching is performed, a television receiver 13 transmits transmission request information to an HDMI source device in a destination of the input switching and acquires dynamic range conversion definition information of uncompressed image data at intended timing. Also, when it is possible to acquire the dynamic range conversion definition information of the uncompressed image data, the television receiver 13 minimizes transmission of the dynamic range conversion definition information from a BD recorder 11 by sending reception recognition information back.

  • Publication number: 20170064385
Abstract: Graphics are preferably superimposed on uncompressed image data received from an external device to be transmitted to another external device. An AV amplifier 12 inserted on an HDMI transmission path between a BD player 11 and a television receiver 13 superimposes the graphics on the transmitted uncompressed image data. At that time, the AV amplifier 12 receives dynamic range conversion definition information of the uncompressed image data and generates graphics image data on the basis of the dynamic range conversion definition information to superimpose, thereby displaying the graphics with desired luminance even when dynamic range reverse conversion is performed by the television receiver 13.

  • Publication number: 20170055005
Abstract: Content data control is to be performed in a preferred manner between a device such as an HDMI device and an IP (DLNA) device. In response to transmission request information received from a mobile terminal (14) via a wireless transmission path (16), a television receiver (13) transmits information related to uncompressed image/audio data to the mobile terminal (14) via the wireless transmission path (16), the related information having been acquired from an HDMI-connected BD recorder (11). The mobile terminal (14) displays a list of content information in accordance with the received related information, and transmits the control information about selected content to the television receiver (13).

  • Publication number: 20170019169
Abstract: Light signal transmitter units 21-1 to 21-n of a transmitter device 20 perform optical communication with a receiver device 40 via optical fiber cables 61-1 to 61-n of an optical interface cable 61. A connection detection unit 22 detects whether connection to the receiver device is established via the optical interface cable, and a visible light source control unit 24 causes a visible light source unit 25 to emit visible light that can identify by an attribute a connection relationship with the receiver device connected via the optical interface cable, only when the connection to the receiver device 40 is not detected, and causes visible light superposition units 26-1 to 26-n to superpose the visible light on the cable.

  • Publication number: 20160330429
Abstract: Transmission of stereo image data may be performed between devices, where a source device receives E-EDID from a sink device via DDC of an HDMI cable. This E-EDID contains information on 3D image data transmission modes supportable by the sink device. Based on information on 3D image data transmission modes from the sink device, the source device selects a predetermined transmission mode from among the 3D image data transmission modes supportable by the sink device. The source device transmits 3D image data in the selected transmission mode to the sink device. The source device transmits information on the transmission mode for the 3D image data, to the sink device by using an AVI InfoFrame packet or the like. The sink device processes the 3D image data received from the source device in accordance with its transmission mode, thereby obtaining left and right eye image data.
