  • Publication number: 20090135627
Abstract: To prevent, in a backlight where light emitting diodes are arranged on a side surface of a light guide plate, light leakage from a reflection sheet and reduce non-uniformity of emission light from the backlight. In a liquid crystal display device that includes a backlight that irradiates a liquid crystal panel with light, LEDs are disposed as light emitting elements on a light guide plate that is disposed in the backlight, a reflection sheet that comprises a multilayer film is disposed on a bottom surface of the light guide plate, projections are disposed by sandblasting on the bottom surface of the light guide plate in the vicinity of the LEDs, and tight adhesion between the reflection sheet and the light guide plate is prevented. In the vicinity of the LEDs, in order to counter light non-uniformity, reflecting grooves are not disposed and it is a mirror surface, but tight adhesion can be prevented by disposing the projections.

  • Publication number: 20090009688
Abstract: The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device which can largely enhance a property of focusing light from a backlight. The backlight arranged on a back surface of a liquid crystal panel includes a light guide plate, a light source, a first asymmetrical prism sheet, and a second asymmetrical prism sheet. A reflection surface having an inclination of 2° or less for guiding light from the light source toward the liquid crystal display panel is formed on a back surface of the light guide plate. The first asymmetrical prism sheet and the second asymmetrical prism sheet respectively include projecting portions which extend in the arrangement direction of the light source and are arranged in parallel to each other in the direction which intersects the arrangement direction of the light source.

  • Publication number: 20080165308
Abstract: In a liquid crystal display device using a light emitting diode as a light source, even when a plurality of light emitting elements are provided, an inclined surface is formed on a light guide plate as a reflection surface, and a light is converged in the liquid-crystal-panel direction using the reflection surface. In a liquid crystal display device which includes a backlight for radiating a light toward a liquid crystal panel, LEDs are formed on the light guide plate which is mounted on the backlight as light emitting elements. The plurality of LEDs are arranged along a side surface of the light guide plate, and a first reflection surface and a second reflection surface are formed on a bottom surface of the light guide plate. The second reflection surface is arranged closer to the LEDs than the first reflection surface and an angle of the second reflection surface is set larger than an angle of the first reflection surface.

  • Patent number: 6476544
Abstract: A color cathode ray tube includes an electron gun having cathode structures arrayed in line with a cup-shaped first grid electrode. Each of the cathode structures is fused and fixed to a cathode in an electrically insulated state by hermetic glass. A cathode support to which the cathode structures are fixed by glass is fixedly housed in the cup-shaped first grid electrode, and the first grid electrode and the cathode support are welded on an axis along which the cathode structures are arrayed. The cathode structures and the first grid electrode are welded on an inline axis so that the thermal deformation of the cathode support can be made uniform at the center portion and at side portions. Accordingly, at the start-up time of the color cathode ray tube, the cathode currents at the center portion and at the side portions can be equalized and a good color balance can be maintained on the screen.
