Abstract: An intake throttling device adapted to a Diesel engine includes an intake pipe for connection to an intake manifold of the engine, a throttle valve arranged within the intake pipe, and an actuator operatively connected to the throttle valve and arranged to be deactivated to fully open the throttle valve during normal operation of the engine, to be rendered in its first activated condition to adjust the opening angle of the throttle valve during idling operation of the engine, and to be rendered in its second activated condition to fully close the throttle valve when the engine is arrested or immediately before the engine is arrested.

Abstract: A splash plate for the casing of a marine propulsion device, which casing is disposed rearwardly and outside of the hull. The splash plate projects forwardly of the casing, and its lower surface at the forward end is lower than it is at a rear portion so that water splashed by the device is deflected downwardly.

An outer pipe is provided to encircle the propeller hub with a radial spacing and has a rear end extending beyond the rear end of the hub so that the exhaust gas is forced to flow, during a reverse movement, from the exhaust gas passage in the hub to the space between the hub and the outer pipe.

Abstract: An apparatus for controlling a fuel to be supplied to a reforming means in accordance with an air flow passing through an auxiliary air fuel mixture supplying pipe by providing an auxiliary air fuel mixture supplying pipe parallelly to a main air fuel mixture supplying pipe connected to a combustion chamber of a cylinder, interposing the fuel reforming means having a combustion chamber in the supplying pipe for said auxiliary air fuel mixture, injecting the fuel into said reforming means and then reforming said fuel together with the mixture through igniting and burning.
