  • Patent number: 5082252
Abstract: A fluid-filled mount includes a body made of a resilient material and having a structural member supporting region on one end and a vibrating member supporting region on the opposite end. The body has a main fluid chamber defined therein between the structural member and vibrating member supporting regions, at least one auxiliary fluid chamber defined therein laterally of the main fluid chamber, and an orifice communicating between the main and auxiliary fluid chambers. A fluid is filled in the main fluid chamber, the auxiliary fluid chamber, and the orifice.

  • Patent number: 4997169
Abstract: A hydraulically damped mount includes a mounting element fixed to a moving component and a support fixed to a stationary component. A resilient element is connected between the mounting element and the support and cooperates with a diaphragm to define a fluid chamber. The fluid chamber is divided into a working chamber and a compensation chamber by a partition assembly. The partition assembly has an upper plate and a lower plate joined together to define a space within which a movable plate is vertically movable to absorb movement of the fluid caused by a change in pressure in the working chamber. A spacer is centrally disposed in the upper and lower plates to provide a constant distance therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4938463
Abstract: A fluid-filled vibration damper includes a partition which is vibratable to absorb vibrations with small amplitudes. When vibrations with amplitudes greater than a certain amplitude level are continuously applied over a certain period of time, the vibrations of the partition are substantially stopped.

  • Patent number: 4903951
Abstract: A fluid-filled vibroisolating device comprises a joint member adapted to be joined to a vibrating body such as an engine. A support member is adapted to be supported on a supporting body such as a vehicle frame and defining an expandable and contractible auxiliary fluid chamber filled with a fluid. An elastomeric member interconnects the joint and support members and is disposed in a vibrating direction in which the vibrating body vibrates. The elastomeric member, the joint member, and the support member jointly define an expandable and contractible main fluid chamber filled with a fluid. A partition is mounted in the support member and separates the main and auxiliary fluid chambers from each other. The partition has flow regulators for regulating the flow of the fluid between the main and auxiliary fluid chamber. A reinforcing member is integrally formed with the elastomeric member for preventing the elastomeric member from being collapsed.

  • Patent number: 4858879
Abstract: A combination viscous and resilient type of mount comprises a rigid boss adapted to be connected to a moving component such as an reciprocating engine, an annular flange adapted to be connected to a stationary support, a resilient element connected between the boss and the annular flange to resiliently supporting the moving component relative to the stationary support, the resilient element having a frustconical shape, a deformable element cooperating with the resilient element to define a chamber for viscous fluid, and a rigid partition connected to the flange and adapted to divide the fluid chamber into a working chamber and a compensation chamber, the partition including at least one orifice through which the two chambers are communicated with each other. A rigid spacer is interposed between the boss and a flange of the moving component and has an annular projection. A rigid ring is inserted into the resilient element and has an outwardly extending annular flange.

  • Patent number: 4751848
Abstract: A vibration sensor for detecting vibration of an object at a prescribed frequency includes a vibratory body capable of resonating at the prescribed frequency and having at least one center of resonant vibration thereof. The vibratory body is made of an electrically conductive elastic material with its conductivity variable according to a strain thereof produced by the resonant vibration, and at least two electrodes disposed around the center of resonant vibration and joined to the vibratory body. The vibration sensor further includes a power supply connected to one of the electrodes, and an actuator having two input terminals and operable when the vibration of the object at the prescribed frequency is detected. One of the input terminals is connected to the other electrode and the other input terminal to the power supply. An electric signal can be produced directly from the vibration sensor via the electrodes.

  • Patent number: 4733854
Abstract: A fluid-sealed mounting comprises a base adapted to be secured to a vehicle body frame, for example, an attachment adapted to be connected to a source of vibrations, a first elastic member connected to the base and the attachment, a fluid chamber defined at least partly by the base, the attachment, and the first elastic member, and filled with a fluid, a partition dividing the fluid chamber into first and second chambers, and an orifice providing communication between the first and second chambers. The partition comprises a second elastic member connected to the base and the attachment. The rate of flow of the fluid through the orifice between the first and second chambers at the time the first elastic member is vibrated is different from the rate of flow of the fluid through the orifice between the first and second chambers at the time the second elastic member is vibrated.
