  • Publication number: 20020110370
Abstract: A recording and playback apparatus and method, a program storage medium and a program by which AV signals of a program being recorded can be converted into AV signals of another format are disclosed. First, it is discriminated whether or not a recording process is started. If it is discriminated that a recording process is started, then coded data being currently recorded are read out and converted into coded data of another format. Thereafter, the coded data obtained by the format conversion are recorded onto a hard disk.

  • Publication number: 20020056052
Abstract: An information processing apparatus is disclosed wherein an RTC is corrected and a correction history is recorded. A correct-time indication detection section supervises the frequency of a sound signal received by a tuner for a predetermined period. When a signal representing a correct-time indication is detected, the correct-time indication detection section outputs a signal indicating such detection to a correction processing section. The correction processing section receives the signal indicating detection of a correct-time indication, corrects a setting time of an RTC with the signal and records a result of the correction into a log memory.

  • Patent number: 6374841
Abstract: An object of the invention is to provide a tip for stick use without any movable portion and any sliding portion, which is monolithically formed to be flexibly deformable having a restoring function as well as a simple constitution, and a stick shod with the same. The tip is mainly constituted of a lower portion 1 for contacting the ground, an upper portion 2 whereon a hole 6 to be inserted with the stick 3 is opened and a flexibly deformable portion 4 for connecting aforesaid lower portion 1 and upper portion 2 which is equipped with an annular concavity 5 on a peripheral surface. The above-mentioned three portions 1, 2 and 4 constituting the tip are fabricated monolithically from an elastic material.

  • Publication number: 20020046241
Abstract: A recording and reproducing system according to the invention is made up of a server apparatus and its terminals connected over a local area network that is administered independently in a limited area. In the system, any one of the terminals may generate a reproduction request and send it to the server apparatus over the LAN. In response to the request, the server apparatus reproduces video data from a storage medium installed therein and sends the reproduced video data to the requesting terminal over the LAN. In this manner, a user may reproduce video data and enjoy images thereof by remotely operating the server apparatus with ease from any terminal configured in the system.

  • Publication number: 20010024562
Abstract: An information processing apparatus is disclosed which allows image data to be used commonly by a plurality of personal computers. A check box of a copy option setting window is selected in order to delete AV contents of an original recorded on a HDD after the AV contents are copied from the HDD into an external recording medium. A check box is selected in order to set so that AV contents recorded as compression data of the MPEG 2 system on the HDD are copied onto the external recording medium after they are converted into compression data of the MPEG 1 system which has compatibility with a video CD.

  • Patent number: 4952354
Abstract: A method for degating an injection molded article comprising the steps of filling a mold cavity with a molten resin and cooling the mold to effect gate seal. A gate cut shaft member is oscillated after gate seal is completed to soften the hardened resin in the gate. The gate cut shaft member is then displaced with respect to the mold cavity when the resin is softened to effect degating. A second method comprises the steps of cutting the gate in the molded article by sliding the gate cut shaft member during the dwell process with respect to the mold cavity after filling the mold with molten resin and before gate seal is effected. While said gate cut shaft member is subject to minute oscillation or a slow reciprocating motion, the shaft surface is abutted against the degated surface to obtain a good cut surface on the molded article.

  • Patent number: 3978523
Abstract: A multi-channel dual-gap magnetic head. The head has a plurality of magnetic head tips which are separated magnetically from each other by non-magnetic materials, and each having two magnetic gaps. A plurality of magnetic back cores are connected to said magnetic head tips, and a plurality of windings are wound on the respective back cores. The corresponding magnetic gaps in the head tips are aligned in two straight lines which are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the direction of tape movement of the tape for a recording and reproducing device. The magnetic gaps aligned in one straight line have at least two different gap widths for carrying out different functions from among the functions of recording, playback and erasing.
