  • Patent number: 5926085
Abstract: According to the present invention there is provided a highly reliable position sensor capable of preventing the entry of foreign matters such as water and dust from the exterior into a receptacle chamber formed within a housing. Formed in the housing are a mounting opening to be mounted in a sealed state to a throttle body and a receptacle chamber having an opening. The receptacle chamber and the mounting opening are partitioned from each other by a partition wall. A sensor body is mounted into the receptacle chamber and the opening of the chamber is covered with a cover, then a clearance formed between the opening and the cover is filled and sealed with a thermosetting resin such as an epoxy resin. A communication hole for communication between the receptacle chamber and the mounting opening is formed through an operating shaft which is rotating a sliding-element receiver of the sensor body.

  • Patent number: 5887568
Abstract: A predetermined firing delay time B.sub.1 is added to a value obtained by dividing a total gas weight Gcyl in a cylinder by an unburnt gas density basic value DENS and a laminar flow flame velocity basic value FLML. The value obtained by this calculation is unit converted and then set as a basic ignition timing for which a minimum ignition advance value or MBT is obtained. In this way, ignition timing control is optimized for various engine running conditions without preparing a plurality of maps.

  • Patent number: 5832183
Abstract: An information recognition circuit comprises a plurality of recognition processing units each composed of a neural network. Teacher signals and information signals to be processed are supplied to a plurality of the units, individually so as to obtain output signals by executing individual learning. Thereafter, the plural units are connected to each other so as to construct a large scale information recognition system. Further, in the man-machine interface system, a plurality of operating instruction data are prepared. An operator's face is sensed by a TV camera to extract the factors related to the operator's facial expression. The neural network analogizes operator's feeling on the basis of the extracted factors. In accordance with the guessed results, a specific sort of the operating instruction is selected from a plurality of sorts of the operating instructions, and the selected instruction is displayed as an appropriate instruction for the operator.

  • Patent number: 5687696
Abstract: Fuel in a fuel tank is pressurized by a fuel pump and supplied to a fuel gallery. When a fuel injection valve connecting with this gallery is opened by an electromagnetic signal, fuel is injected from the valve into a combustion chamber of the engine. The fuel gallery is formed inside a cylinder head, and the fuel injection valve is disposed in the cylinder head such that a fuel inlet port of the valve faces the gallery. In this manner, a high pressure fuel passage does not project outside the cylinder head, and there is less risk of fuel leaking from the passage. Further, as the high pressure fuel passage does not project outside the engine, the piping around the engine is simplified.

  • Patent number: 5540200
Abstract: A fuel injection valve includes a valve body to which liquid to be injected is supplied. A nozzle tip is connected with an end portion of the valve body. A valve member is installed in the valve body to stop and start a supply of the liquid to the nozzle tip. The nozzle tip has first and second nozzle holes which are formed so that fluid injected through the first nozzle hole is collided with fluid injected through the second nozzle hole and that a ratio between a square root of a cross-sectional area of the first nozzle hole and a square root of a cross-sectional area of the second nozzle hole is within a range 1.25 to 3.5. Therefore, the collided fuel is effectively atomized as a result of a resonance phenomenon by the collision.
