  • Patent number: 4996749
Abstract: A hose clamp includes an annular clamp body having a pair of opposite end parts intersecting each other and bent in a radially outward direction so as to effect radial expansion of the clamp body by mutual approximation of the end parts. One of the end parts has a lock depression formed therein. The other end part has a lock claw part formed thereon at a position capable of engagement with the lock depression. The one end part has an unlocking wall formed thereon for disengaging the lock claw part from the lock depression. The clamp body is retained in a radially expanded state by the engagement between the lock claw part and the lock depression and is allowed to contract by the disengagement between the lock depression and the lock claw part.

  • Patent number: 4930191
Abstract: A hose clamp includes an annular clamp body having a first terminal portion and a second terminal portion. The first terminal portion has a guide opening, a lock wall defined between the guide opening and the leading end of the first terminal portion, and side walls disposed across the guide opening and folded back over themselves in a substantially U-shaped cross section having an upper side piece and a lower side piece. The second terminal portion has a radially outwardly bent wall serving as an engaging tongue piece. The clamp body is kept in a radially expanded state when the engaging tongue piece of the second terminal portion abuts against the lock wall of the first terminal portion and is radially contracted when the abutment between the engaging tongue piece and the lock wall is released to move the engaging tongue piece within the guide opening.

  • Patent number: 4697851
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a final fiber bundle for use in brushes is highly efficiently applicable to synthetic fibers having poor thermal stability. The method comprises the steps of: (a) arranging a number of synthetic thermoplastic fibers so that at least one end of each fiber is positioned in the same plane, to obtain a fiber bundle, (b) compressing the thus obtained fiber bundle to the extent that the compressed fiber bundle takes a desired cross-sectional shape and has a desired bulk density, (c) irradiating the fiber ends in the same plane with energy beams to fusion bond them together, and (d) releasing the compression to obtain a final bundle having a fusion bonded fiber ends. In a case where the synthetic fibers are not thermoplastic, a thermoplastic adhesive is additionally used in the step of irradiation.

  • Patent number: 4624011
Abstract: An acoustic signal processing circuit extracts input speech pattern data and subsidiary feature data from an input speech signal. The input speech pattern data comprise frequency spectra, whereas the subsidiary feature data comprise phoneme and acoustic features. These data are then stored in a data buffer memory. The similarity measures between the input speech pattern data stored in the data buffer memory and reference speech pattern data stored in a dictionary memory are computed by a similarity computation circuit. When the largest similarity measure exceeds a first threshold value and when the difference between the largest similarity measure and the second largest measure exceeds a second threshold value, category data of the reference pattern which gives the largest similarity measure is produced by a control circuit to correspond to an input speech.

  • Patent number: 4485170
Abstract: A photographic silver halide light-sensitive material is described. The material is comprised of a support with at least one gelatin-containing hydrophilic layer provided thereon. The gelatin-containing hydrophilic layer contains a styrene-butadiene copolymer latex. With this photographic silver halide light-sensitive material, the formation of fog and desensitization occur less if it is bent or sucked during the production, working, and development thereof. There is thus provided a light-sensitive material which is improved in its resistance against mechanical stresses without causing a loss of transparency during development, and further, without increasing its surface electric resistance.
