  • Publication number: 20090288647
Abstract: A fuel supply apparatus that supplies fuel to an internal combustion engine by injecting liquid fuel from a fuel injection valve into a suction port is configured by a microbubble generator that generates microbubbles and an ultrasonic wave generator that generates an ultrasonic wave depending on a gas in the microbubbles generated by the microbubble generator. In the fuel supply apparatus, the generated microbubbles are mixed into the liquid fuel that is supplied to the fuel injection valve, and the liquid fuel in which the microbubbles are mixed is irradiated with the ultrasonic wave depending on the driving state of the internal combustion engine. When the liquid fuel in which the microbubbles are mixed is irradiated with the ultrasonic wave, a temperature of the liquid fuel is raised instantaneously due to contraction of the microbubbles.

  • Patent number: 7591130
Abstract: A control apparatus is provided for a vehicle including an internal combustion engine and a continuously variable transmission capable of controlling an output speed of the engine. A controller of the control apparatus determines a first operating point at which a total fuel consumption amount is minimized as an optimal operating point, such that the total fuel consumption amount is obtained by adding an amount of a fuel consumed by an exhaust purifying device disposed in an exhaust system to an amount of a fuel consumed by the engine for generating a required output. The controller then controls an engine load and also controls a speed ratio of the transmission so that the engine operates at the optimal operating point.

  • Patent number: 7559573
Abstract: A side airbag has a lower chamber corresponding to the chest of the occupant and an upper chamber corresponding to the head of the occupant. A strap is provided at the boundary between the lower and upper chambers. The attachment position of a door-side attachment portion of the strap is higher than the attachment position of a seat-side attachment portion of the strap and lower than the upper end of a door trim or at the same height as the upper end of the door trim. Thus, the peripheral length from the upper end of a door-side base cloth of the side airbag to the door-side attachment portion of the strap is shorter than the peripheral length from the upper end of a seat-side base cloth of the side airbag to the seat-side attachment portion of the strap. As such, upon deployment of the side airbag, the upper chamber can be raised up toward a door window glass.

  • Patent number: 7500256
Abstract: An audiovisual terminal, an audiovisual authentication system, a method of authenticating audiovisual education, a remote education method, and a recording medium readable with the audiovisual terminal, all suitable for authenticating the actual viewing of education programs, especially to authenticate the actual viewing in remote education. Through the audiovisual terminal, a viewer of an audiovisual program enters a confirmation code which is specific to the audiovisual program and is transmitted to a principal who authenticates viewing of the program, and time information corresponding to the viewing confirmation code. The time information corresponding to the viewing confirmation code is typically a time point at which the code is entered. It may also be a time interval calculated, for example, from the entering time. The audiovisual terminal confirms whether the viewer is actually viewing a remote education program.

  • Patent number: 7316218
Abstract: Disclosed is a control system for a hydrogen addition internal combustion engine that uses hydrocarbon fuel and hydrogen gas as combustion fuel. The control system includes fuel property judgment means for judging the property of hydrocarbon fuel; and addition ratio increase means that, when the hydrocarbon fuel is found to be heavy, increases the ratio of hydrogen gas addition to the hydrocarbon fuel. When the hydrocarbon fuel is found to be heavy, the control system increases the ratio of hydrogen gas addition to the hydrocarbon fuel. It is therefore possible to inhibit the combustion state from deteriorating due to the use of heavy fuel, thereby offering good emission and driveability.
