  • Patent number: 6966065
Abstract: A client transmits an event of Event::Subscribe (“DSI—CHANGED”) to a server. The server returns an event number set for a “DSI—CHANGED” event to the client. After the event number is obtained, the client transmits Event::notify to the server and requests some event generation notice including “DSI—CHANGED”. When there is a change in DSI of a karrusel which was received, namely, when the “DSI CHANGED” event is generated at a certain timing after Event::notify is received, the server transmits the event number corresponding to the “DSI—CHANGED” event to the client as a response to Event::notify. The contents of the karrusel before the event number is generated is continuously used for a period of time during which the client transmits Session::detach to the server after the server notified the client of the generation of the event number.

  • Patent number: 6914419
Abstract: A power supply system prevents the output voltage from dropping during the changeover of the power source from a series regulator to a DC-DC converter. The power supply system has two types of power sources, a DC-DC converter and a series regulator that are connected parallel to each other. The first switching element of the DC-DC converter transfers the input voltage to the load. The second switching element connects the load to the ground. The control circuit turns ON and OFF the first and second switching elements on receipt of a first selection signal so that the number of turn-ONs of the second switching element gradually increases. This suppresses the current from flowing backward through the second switching element SW2 to the ground while the power source is changing over, preventing drop in the output voltage.

  • Publication number: 20050125552
Abstract: A device and method for autonomously deciding whether or not to execute data processing requests (commands) from other devices is provided. A rule mapping processor for determining whether or not to executed data processing based on data processing requests received from other devices is also provided. A determination is made at said rule mapping processor as to whether or not to execute data processing based on data transmission mode information for received data processing requests. Determination of execution or non-execution of autonomous processing is possible with this configuration so that in distributed data processing occurring at, for example, a P2P-connected network configuration etc., it is possible to eliminate procedures such as selection of nodes executing processing and therefore enable efficient data processing, packet transmission accompanying deciding of processing nodes, can be reduced, and reduction of network traffic may also be made possible.

  • Publication number: 20050125549
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for implementing an execution configuration for efficiently recording and reproducing data using distributed nodes are provided. When data recording processing is performed for a plurality of distributed nodes connected to a network or when data recorded in the distributed nodes is collected and reproduced, a processing command apparatus sets data for determining for the nodes to determine whether to execute data recording or data reproducing and transmits a data processing request, in which the data for determination and data specifying data to be recorded or reproduced are stored, to the nodes so that the node side can autonomously determine whether to execute data processing based on the data for determination. This configuration eliminates the need for the command apparatus, which issues a processing request, to perform preprocessing such as the selection of a particular node, thus increasing the efficiency of data recording and reproducing processing for distributed nodes.

  • Publication number: 20050080916
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided which execute a data acquisition process over a network by selecting an optimum configuration from various transmission modes. In the configuration that a data reproduction process request is transmitted to a network-connected node and a data reproduction process based upon return data is executed, one or more data transmission modes to be adopted as data transmission modes are selected in accordance with a demand level (popularity level) of data, a data transmission rate of each selected mode is determined, and data transmission is performed by using the determined transmission mode. With this configuration, it becomes possible to select and combine data transmission modes, such as a carousel transmission mode, a chaining transmission mode, a distributed cache mode and a client server mode and to realize data transmission by using an efficient and reliable data transmission mode.

  • Publication number: 20050076077
Abstract: A distributed storage system having n nodes (201), (202), . . . , (20n), a recording commanding device (10) for commanding recording of data in each node, and a transmission commanding device (30) for reading out the data recorded in the respective nodes. These nodes and the devices are interconnected over a network. The recording commanding device (10) applies FEC coding, with the coding rate of q/p, to data composed of p blocks, to generate q blocks, and appends a recording probability a, recorded by the node, to the data, to send out the resulting data to the network. In readout, the transmission commanding device (30) responds data to which has been appended the response probability ? in responding the data.
