Patent number: 8127590Abstract: In a die-cushion device of a press machine a controller controls an opening degree of a proportional flow-rate control valve to an appropriate opening degree in order to control the flow rate flowing out of a lower chamber of a hydraulic cylinder supporting a cushion pad before a slide collides against the cushion pad using a die-cushion pressure command commanded from a commander in advance and a slide speed signal inputted from a slide speed detector. By this, generation of a surge pressure when a slide collides against the cushion pad at a high speed is restricted.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2005Date of Patent: March 6, 2012Assignee: Aida Engineering, Ltd.Inventors: Yasuyuki Kohno, Katsunori Haseba, Junko Haseba

Patent number: 8037735Abstract: A die cushion apparatus of a press machine in which a discharge opening of a fluid hydraulic pump/motor is directly connected to a pressure chamber on a cushion pressure production side of a fluid hydraulic cylinder and the torque of a rotating shaft of the fluid hydraulic pump/motor is controlled by an electric motor to control a pressure (die cushion pressure) of the pressure chamber on the cushion pressure production side. It is therefore possible to control the die cushion pressure with excellent responsiveness with respect to a die cushion pressure command and prevent occurrence of a surge pressure. The die cushion apparatus also has excellent energy efficiency since energy required for a die cushioning action that a cushion pad receives when effecting die cushioning of a press machine is regenerated as electrical energy through the fluid hydraulic cylinder, fluid hydraulic pump/motor, and electric motor.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2006Date of Patent: October 18, 2011Assignee: Aida Engineering, Ltd.Inventors: Yasuyuki Kohno, Minoru Somukawa

Patent number: 7401548Abstract: A slide of a press machine is driven by composite thrust of thrust of an electric (servo) motor SM (via a screw/nut mechanism from the electric motor) and thrust of hydraulic cylinders SYL1, SYL2 to which pressure oil is supplied from a constant, high pressure source. A slide control device controls the electric motor SM and the hydraulic cylinders SYL1, SYL2, based on a slide position signal and a motor angular velocity signal, and at the same time, makes the hydraulic cylinder SYL1 work as a pump during a period when slide load is small, charging pressure oil to the constant, high pressure source by using the thrust transferred from the electric motor to the hydraulic cylinder SYL1 through the screw/nut mechanism and the slide.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2005Date of Patent: July 22, 2008Assignee: Aida Engineering, Ltd.Inventors: Yasuyuki Kohno, Minoru Somukawa

Patent number: 6647870Abstract: An electric motor and hydraulic pump/motor are combined on a torque level, a press machine is controlled with controllability of an electric motor, and kinetic energy of a slide is regenerated during braking without constraints of slide pressurization or an amount of energy. A screw press drives a slide through a screw mechanism made up of a drive nut and a driven screw. The drive nut is provided with a ring gear integral therewith and this ring gear is engaged with a gear provided for a drive axis of an electric motor and a gear provided for the drive axis of a hydraulic pump/motor. The hydraulic pump/motor is connected to a constant high pressure source that generates a quasi-constant pressure hydraulic liquid and a low pressure source. This allows the electric motor and hydraulic pump/motor to be combined on a torque level.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2001Date of Patent: November 18, 2003Assignee: Aida Engineering, Ltd.Inventor: Yasuyuki Kohno

Patent number: 6085520Abstract: A slide driving device employs a variable-displacement pump/motor for driving a rotating element of the slide driving device. The displacement volume of the variable-displacement pump/motor, whose output drives the slide, is varied in response to deviation of measured driver parameters from commanded driver parameters. An energy storage device temporarily absorbs excess energy during a portion of a molding cycle, and returns the energy to the system for re-use. In one embodiment, the energy storage device is an accumulator. In a second embodiment, the energy storage device is a flywheel. The combination of variable displacement volume and energy storage maintains the fluid pressure substantially constant during a cycle of the slide driving device.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 1997Date of Patent: July 11, 2000Assignee: Aida Engineering Co., Ltd.Inventor: Yasuyuki Kohno
