  • Patent number: 5812274
Abstract: An image signal processing apparatus to realize signal processing system and apparatus constitution, where an image signal inputted using a photoelectric conversion element such as a CCD or a contact type image sensor is obtained in circuit constitution of small scale with high picture quality. In order to solve the problems, data width of a signal referred to in a shading corrector, an MTF corrector and an error diffusion circuit is made b+f+j.ltoreq.8 per one pixel. Or error component commonly possessed by plural pixels (N pixels) in the error diffusion circuit is made b+f+j'.ltoreq.8, data width per one pixel being made j'=j/N. Image signal processing is realized in this constitution, thereby data width of a signal referred to in respective signal processings is reduced, and an image signal satisfying accuracy of signal processing sufficiently and having high picture quality can be obtained. For example, when a circuit is constituted by LSI, the memory section can be easily mounted on the same LSI.

  • Patent number: 5805312
Abstract: An image copying system is disclosed which has a thermal head energized at a strobe current supply time rate corresponding to a current head temperature according to a preset strobe current supply time rate control characteristics. In copying operation at a standard speed, a read sensor 211 reads an image by performing N main scans in one sub scan. A signal processor 221 validates the image signal thus read once every N scans according to a selection signal from a mode control circuit 401. A record circuit 311 having a thermal head performs one main scan every sub scan. During a copying operation at a speed N times the standard speed, the sub scan speed is made N times and the read sensor 211 reads the image by performing one main scan every sub scan and the signal processor 221 makes the read image signal always valid by the selection signal. The record device 311 performs one main scan every sub scan. A single A/D converter is used for A/D converting head temperature as well as other output signal.

  • Patent number: 5162838
Abstract: A facsimile apparatus has a transparent plate on which a document may be located. The document is then scanned by a scanner which includes electronic solid state light generation means e.g. LEDs which illuminate the document, with the light reflected from the document being detected by a detector. An electronic signal corresponding to an image of the document may then be transmitted to a remote location. Alternately, the facsimile apparatus may be used to copy the document. Cut paper sheets are withdrawn from storage and an image printed thereon by a heat transfer system in which a film of ink is selectively heated. Paper on which an image has been printed is then received on the upper surface of the storage. The facsimile apparatus may also have a document transporter for moving a document past the scanner with the scanner fixed.

  • Patent number: 4649401
Abstract: A thermal recording apparatus has a thermal recording head constituted by heating elements disposed in parallel, a driver circuit actuated in response to a recording signal, and a control circuit which controls the driver circuit. The apparatus is arranged such that, when data in a memory which stores recording data to be output to the control circuit is transferred to a register in the driver circuit, an address signal for reading out the recording data in the memory is output to the driver circuit simultaneously with the recording data in the memory, thereby selecting a register in the driver circuit.

  • Patent number: 4149171
Abstract: A plurality of lead electrodes are connected to a strip-like heating resistor in parallel and at regular intervals so as to define a heating resistor section between the adjacent lead electrodes. The heating resistor section is supplied with a current across the lead electrodes connected on both sides thereof. According to this invention, one recording block is constructed of a plurality of such heating resistor sections, and the heating resistor sections are sequentially energized within each recording block. By performing a plurality of such energizing cycles within each recording block, dots corresponding to the respective heating resistor sections are recorded.

  • Patent number: 3984844
Abstract: A plurality of electrodes are arranged alternately on both sides of a predetermined strip-like region of an insulated substrate, thus making up a thermal head with a plurality of heating resistor elements bridging the electrodes. A potential is selectively applied to the electrodes on one side of the strip-like region and those electrodes adjacent thereto on the other side of the region thereby to energize the heating resistor elements interposed between the particular electrodes. Heat thus generated is used to visually record information in accordance with electrical signals on the thermally responsive recording paper capable of being colored in response to heat.
