Abstract: A moisture absorbent shower cap for moisture absorption that includes: an outer layer; an inner absorbent insert, where the inner absorbent insert includes an absorbent material, which is adapted for absorbing moisture within the moisture absorbent shower cap during use; a means to support the inner absorbent insert within the moisture absorbent shower cap; and an opening, where a user places the cap on the user's head through the opening. Preferably, the means to support the inner absorbent insert includes a pocket, where the pocket is made of material consistent with the moisture absorbent shower cap. Alternatively, the pocket is made of a mesh material and the inner absorbent insert may be further supported in the pocket through the use of a hook and loop fastener.

The moisturizing insert may include an outer layer and a protective barrier. The steps related to a method of hair moisturizing according to the present invention includes: saturating a moisturizing insert with a moisturizing substance, inserting a moisturizing insert into a flap pocket of a moisturizing steam cap; placing a moisturizing steam cap over a user's hair; and heating the moisturizing insert releasing steam with the moisturizing steam cap.
