  • Publication number: 20160353613
Abstract: In some implementations, a hybrid cooling apparatus can be used to cool computing components within a computing device. For example, the apparatus can comprise a plurality of conductors coupled at one end to a plurality of heat generating computing components. The plurality of conductors can be coupled at another end to a liquid cooling rack. The liquid cooling rack can comprise a radiator, and the plurality of conductors can be coupled to the liquid cooling rack at the radiator. The liquid cooling rack can be adapted to cycle cold liquid coolant through the radiator. Heat generated by the computing components is conducted through the conductors to the radiator and dissipated by the cold liquid coolant.

  • Publication number: 20160101044
Abstract: A gel composition and method of manufacturing the same is discussed. The gel composition includes a plurality of chitosan spheres, an alkaline chitosan stabilizing agent, a chitosan decomposition enzyme and a drug. The chitosan spheres are formed by chitosan self-assembly. The alkaline chitosan stabilizing agent connects the chitosan spheres to form a gel body. The chitosan decomposition enzyme scatters in the gel body and decomposes the gel composition at a temperature of 20 to 40 degree Celsius. The drug scatters in the gel body.

  • Patent number: 9293173
Abstract: A non-volatile memory with multiple memory dice manages simultaneous operations so as to not exceed a system power capacity. A load signal bus is pulled up with a strength proportional to the system power capacity. Each die has a driver to pull down the bus by an amount corresponding to its degree of power need as estimated by a state machine of the die. The bus therefore provides a load signal that serves as arbitration between the system power capacity and the cumulative loads of the individual dice. The load signal is therefore at a high state when the system power capacity is not exceeded; otherwise it is at a low state. When a die wishes to perform an operation and requests a certain amount of power, it drives the bus accordingly and its state machine either proceeds with the operation or not, depending on the load signal.

  • Patent number: 9207732
Abstract: Embodiments generally relate to thermal management in a computing device. The present technology discloses techniques that can enable an effective and reliable control of a fan speed using various factors such as a power loading value provided by a power supply unit. Power loading values can indicate a level of current flowing through the device, which is generally proportional to the amount of heat dissipated by such device.

  • Publication number: 20150212883
Abstract: Techniques for efficiently programming non-volatile storage are disclosed. A second page of data may efficiently be programmed into memory cells that already store a first page. Data may be efficiently transferred from single bit cells to multi-bit cells. Memory cells are read using at least two different read levels. The results are compared to determine a count how many memory cells showed a different result between the two reads. If the count is less than a threshold, then data from the memory cells is stored into a set of data latches without attempting to correct for misreads. If the count is not less than the threshold, then data from the memory cells is stored into the set of data latches with attempting to correct for misreads. A programming operation may be performed based on the data stored in the set of data latches.

  • Patent number: 9037902
Abstract: Techniques, related to a flash memory device having a non-volatile memory array (NVM), for recovering from a write interrupt resulting from host-supplied memory voltage fault are disclosed. A memory controller is configured to control a response to an occurrence of the write-interrupt, the response including writing to the NVM, after the memory voltage is verified as being within an acceptable range, one or more of a safe copy of a portion of a first sector of upper-page data and a safe copy of a portion of a second sector of lower-page data, and terminating the write interrupt. Terminating the write-interrupt may include receiving new data from the host while avoiding sending an error message to the host.

  • Publication number: 20070253161
Abstract: A heat sink comprising an open frame including air inlets on a top side and a rotatable fan having a plurality of blades is provided. The heat sink is installed in the frame. The frame has pluralities of supporting elements and ribs positioned between two adjacent supporting elements. The supporting elements and ribs correspond to each other to form multiple side air inlets. The operation of the fan is capable of drawing a large volume of the air into the open frame via the top side and side air inlets. The flange of the blades is parallel to the inner curved side of the ribs when the blades pass by the ribs so that a large volume of air is guided into the frame to enhance the heat dissipation effect. This may also maintain an optimum static pressure and substantially reduce the noise level during the operation of the fan.
