  • Publication number: 20070058113
Abstract: A barrier device of a three-dimensional liquid crystal display (3D LCD) device, which aims to the pixels on the color filter, the barrier panel equips plural parallax barriers. Each of the barriers is grille array, and not transparent. There is a transparent area between two parallax barriers. The parallax barriers in the adjacent arrays are formed diagonally, and the width of the transparent area is greater than that of a sub-pixel in order to reduce the number of the parallax barriers, to enhance the luminance of the 3D LCD, and to preserve the resolution of the 2D-display images.

  • Publication number: 20060221278
Abstract: A liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal polymer film located under a liquid crystal layer. The liquid crystal film has a retardation substantially equal to that of the liquid crystal layer, a twist angle substantially equal to that of the liquid crystal cell, and a twist aspect opposite to that of the liquid crystal layer. As a result, the liquid crystal display has a high contrast ratio.

  • Publication number: 20060146236
Abstract: A micro-reflective liquid crystal display including an upper polarizing plate, an upper substrate having transparent electrode, a color light-filtering plate, a liquid crystal layer, an inner polarizing film, a lower substrate having transparent electrode, driving cell and storage capacitor, a lower polarizing plate and a backlight source. The inner polarizing film is deposited on one face of the lower substrate adjacent to the liquid crystal layer. The color light-filtering plate is formed with an opening corresponding to the storage capacitor, whereby external light can go in through the opening. The upper metal layer of the storage capacitor forms a reflective region for reflecting the external light to serve as a light source for the liquid crystal display. Accordingly, when exposed to outdoor sunlight, the micro-reflective liquid crystal display can still present a clear image.

  • Publication number: 20060102296
Abstract: A multi-link telescopic cover includes a cover assembly having a plurality of shield plates fitted in sequence to be extended and telescoped along a telescopic orientation and a link assembly having a set of parallel first linkages, a set of parallel second linkages and four short linkages. The first linkages and the second linkages are crosswise and are tiled relative to the telescopic orientation of the cover assembly. A number of the first linkages is identical to that of the second linkage, and a number of the shield plates less the number of the first linkages is two. Each of the first linkages and the second linkages are connected to three of the continuous shield plates respectively and the short linkages are connected to the first and second shield plates from opposite ends of the cover assembly.

  • Publication number: 20050212984
Abstract: The present invention provides a parallax barrier which can be converted to the transmissive type if necessary, thereby converting 2D viewing to 3D viewing. The parallax barrier of the present invention is constituted by a twist nematic shutter, a polarizer is disposed on the outside surface of a substrate of the parallax barrier, and the substrate can be replaced with a plastic film, whereby the object distance between the view position of the parallax barrier and the display pixel of a display device is a shorter distance so as to provide a 3D image with a shorter view distance.

  • Publication number: 20050130240
Abstract: The present invention provides carbohydrate encapsulated nanoparticles. In particular, the present invention provides metallic nanoparticles (e.g. gold nanoparticles) that are encapsulated in biologically important carbohydrate molecules, such as sugars, sugar derivatives, P-blood group antigens and analogues thereof. The present invention also provides methods of employing these carbohydrate encapsulated nanoparticles in diagnostic and therapeutic applications.

  • Publication number: 20040239611
Abstract: A double-sided light emitting backlight module is mounted between two liquid crystal display modules and includes at least one light source, a lighting photoconductive board, and at least one brightness enhancement film. Thus, the P light passes through the brightness enhancement film and the S light is reflected by the brightness enhancement film and is transformed to a mixed light of the P light and S light. Thus, the backlight module can prevent the lower polarized plate of the liquid crystal display module from absorbing the S light of all of the light beams of the light source, thereby relatively increasing the usage of the light source, and thereby enhancing the brightness of the liquid crystal display module.

  • Publication number: 20040239843
Abstract: A reflective-type liquid crystal display includes a display module having an upper basic layer, a lower basic layer and a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the upper basic layer and the lower basic layer. A diffuser is piled upon the upper basic layer opposite to the liquid crystal layer and has a haze set from 20% to 60%. A reflective layer is disposed between the lower basic layer and the liquid crystal layer. The reflective layer includes multiple curvature reflective surfaces extending from a top surface of the reflective layer. Each curvature reflective surface reflects and guides the lights from different directions to a normal direction of the reflective-type liquid crystal display.
