  • Publication number: 20030162446
Abstract: An impedance tuned connector includes an insulating housing and a plurality of signal terminals located on the insulating housing each has a contact portion and a pin portion. A pit portion is further disposed between every adjacent two contact portions of signal terminals, so as to space one signal terminal from the adjacent signal terminals by air, which inherently provides a smaller dielectric constant as opposed to that of plastics. Thereby, the capacitance between two signal terminals is lowered down, but the impedance therebetween goes the other way. Another embodiment shows that a bending portion is formed in each pin portion, thereby increasing the inductance between two signal terminals and the impedance as well. Consequently, the impedance between two signal terminals is increased appropriately, so as to comply with the standard and reduce the rate of defection of this impedance tuned connector.

  • Publication number: 20030129875
Abstract: The present utility model provides an electric connector that includes an insulative housing, a plurality of conductive terminals and a base. The electric connector can be electrically connected to a cable, or plugged into another complementary electric connector. The insulative housing has an insertion side, a connecting side and a plurality of terminal receiving tunnels connected to the insertion side and the connecting side. Each of the conductive terminals is received in a corresponding terminal receiving tunnel and has a connecting section extending outside the connecting side. The base has a plurality of grooves for receiving respective connecting sections of the conductive terminals and a stop block to substantially seal the terminal receiving tunnels so that the conductive terminals can be positioned easily when soldered to a cable wire. An overmolding process is applied to manufacture a protective sleeve to envelop the insulative housing assembled with a plurality of conductive terminals and a base.

  • Publication number: 20030096517
Abstract: The present invention provides an electrical connector which includes an insulating housing and a plurality of terminals for electrical connection with a circuit board and for coupling with a matching electrical connector. The insulating housing has a connecting face, an end face disposed opposite and parallel to the connecting face, and a mating face that is adjoined to the end face at a right angle. The connecting face is further provided with a power socket region and a signal socket region. The end face is provided with a plurality of terminal passages communicated with the power socket region and the signal socket region. The end face is further provided with a projecting flange. The flange is provided with a plurality of recesses corresponding in position to the terminal passages.
