Abstract: In a method for storing distributed documents, document upload commands trigger a process for reviewing the status of a single FTP master server in a branch node. After ID information is taken from the document and recorded, a slave server may be appointed as master server depending on conditions relevant to the original master server. Copies of the document also spread out to the server systems in other branch nodes, utilizing in full the storage capacities of all servers and preventing bottlenecks.

Abstract: In a cooperative drawing method using a computing device, a new picture and a drawing group is created. Client computers that join the drawing group are determined. The computing device receives a drawing request from one of the client computers, and assigns a control right and a drawing region of the picture to the client computer. The picture is allocated to the client computer having the control right to draw. According to changes to the picture, drawing codes of the picture are generated. The drawing codes are transferred to all of the client computers. The picture is stored into a storage system of the computing device.

Abstract: In a method for processing an image file using a computing device, an image file from a storage system is read. If an image in the image file is slanted, an incision coordinates according to a configuration file in the storage system and a preset formula is calculated. The method incises the image using the calculated incision coordinates and storing the incised image in a new image file. If an image in the new image file is not slanted, the method further determines whether the image has been incised. If the image has been incised, the method records the calculated incision coordinates that make the image not be slanted as optimal incision coordinates, and stores the optimal incision coordinates into a database.

Abstract: In a method of supporting multi-languages for an application software of a computing device, one or more content to be displayed on a user interface of the application software are searched from program codes of the application software, and a location of the displayed content located in the program codes is recorded. The displayed content is translated using multiple languages, a source document for the translated content corresponding to each of the languages is generated, and all source documents are stored into a program library of the application software. The source document from the program library are loaded when a language is selected from the user interface, and the displayed content is replaced with the translated content in the program codes of the application software. The user interface in form of the selected language is displayed on a display device when the application software is executed.

Abstract: Minimal Motifs of linear B-cell epitopes in L1 structure protein from human papillomavirus type 58 (HPV 58) and their applications are disclosed. Eighteen linear epitope motifs and their extended 8-mer peptides in the L1 protein from HPV 58 are described, which can be used as antigens separately or in combination to specifically detect the serum from subjects with HPV 58 infection, or to develop preventive or therapeutic multi-epitope peptide vaccines against HPV 58 by inducing humoral immunity. Of the eighteen B-cell epitope motifs, ten of them are 100% conservative and one is highly conservative among many homologous proteins of high-risk HPVs. They can be used as candidate “universal” epitopes to develop preventive or therapeutic HPV vaccines. The amino acid sequences of the epitope motifs and the 8-mer peptide formula of the invention are shown below in SEQ ID No. 1-2, 2B, 3, 3B, 4-18, 18B, 19, 19B, and 20-32.

Abstract: A computing device extracts claims, patent law clauses, and prior art documents from an Office action document according to preset regular expressions, and stores the extracted claims, patent law clauses, and prior art documents in an array stored in a storage unit of the computing device. The computing device identifies rejected claims of the Office action document from the extracted claims, and searches involved patent law clauses and prior art documents regarding the rejected claims in the Office action document. The computing device records each identified rejected claim with involved patent law clauses and prior art documents in the storage unit, according to importance ratings of the rejected claims and the relationships.

Abstract: Content transfer involving a gesture is described. In an implementation, a method is implemented by a mobile communications device that includes recognizing a gesture input via a touchscreen of the mobile communications device that is indicative of a direction, the touchscreen including a display of content. One or more other mobile communications devices are located that are positioned, approximately, along the indicated direction of the gesture. A communication is formed to transfer the content to the located one or more other mobile communications devices.

Abstract: Nuclear receptor LXR is an important member of 49 nuclear receptors in human bodies and has irreplaceable regulatory effects on cholesterol and fat metabolisms. The regulation of the biological activity of LXR may have therapeutic effects to the conditions such as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular obstructions, non-insulin dependent hyperglycemia, immune function disorders, and central nerve functional degeneration. We have developed a group of novel Chinese materia medica preparations targeting nuclear receptor LXR by using a computer-simulated docking technology and a process for determining biological activities of human cells cultured ex vivo. The group of preparations are featured by simple ingredients, low costs, easy to prepare, etc. No significant adverse effects were found in initial acute toxicology analysis which was carried out using mice.

Abstract: A server generates a first ID in response to a user inputting a username on a web portal provided by the server. If the user selects a link page displayed through the web portal, the server generates a second ID and sends the first ID and the second ID to the selected link page. The server detects if the user can access the selected link page by reference to the first ID and the second ID. If the server verifies the information successfully, the link page may be entered using the portal information.

Abstract: A cosmetic composition comprising: from about 0.1% to about 5% of an colored interference pigment; from about 0.1% to about 10% of a non-interference pigment concentrate; from about 10% to about 90% of a cosmetically acceptable vehicle; wherein the cosmetic composition has a contrast ratio of 10 or less and has a viscosity of no less than about 40,000 cps. A method of presenting a color transformation of a cosmetic composition during its application, comprising a step of applying the cosmetic composition onto skin.

Abstract: A method for comparing text data reads two patent documents comprising varying text sections. The method compares characters of a first text section in a first patent document with a corresponding second text section in a second patent document, and acquires a same sub-character string that has a maximum matching length and matching positions of the first and second text sections. The method marks characters before the matching positions of the first and second text sections as different characters. The method displays a comparison result list of the comparison between the first patent document and the second patent document on a display device.

Abstract: In a method for analyzing an office action of a patent application using a computing device, an office action of a patent application that is downloaded from a patent office website is parsed using predetermined regular expressions (RE). The patent information of patent application is extracted from the office action according to predetermined keywords of the patent information if the office action fails to be parsed by the regular expressions. A regular expression of the extracted patent information is generated according to determined rules, and is stored into the storage system, to parse another office action using the generated regular expression.

Abstract: An exemplary method for controlling a workflow is provided. The method includes: setting a check-status schedule and a reminder timer for each task of the workflow process; checking whether any task of the workflow process is in an incomplete state according to the check-status schedule; obtaining an operator name and a task assigned time of the task remained in the incomplete state; calculating a time difference between a current time and the task assigned time and calculating a remainder by utilizing modular arithmetic; and generating an alarm signal and sending the alarm signal to inform a corresponding operator to perform the task remained in the incomplete state if the remainder is greater than zero and not greater than the check-status schedule. A related system is also provided.

Abstract: A method for generating an exam is disclosed. The method includes setting initial conditions for the exam, wherein the initial conditions comprises a number of true propositions p, a number of false propositions q, and a number of random propositions r, and determining numbers of different propositions in the exam according to the initial conditions. The method further includes selecting the p number of true propositions, and numbering each of the p number of true propositions with a running number, selecting q number of false propositions, grouping the q number of false propositions, numbering each of the groups with a group number, selecting the r number of propositions, grouping the r number of propositions, numbering each of the groups with a group number. The method further includes generating an exam according to the p number of true propositions, the q number of false propositions, and the r number of propositions.

Abstract: A system and method for correcting errors in downloading web pages provides a historic error resolving procedure and a common error resolving procedure. The historic error resolving procedure is for storing a download error and debugging solutions corresponding to the download error. The download error includes error positions and error types. The common error resolving procedure stores predefined error types and corresponding debugging solutions. If the download error of an error does not exist in the historic error resolving procedure, the common error resolving procedure is searched for the error types and corresponding debugging solutions. If the error type does not exist in the common error resolving procedure, an administrator is prompted to provide a new debugging solution to solve the error, and the new debugging solution is stored into the historic error resolving procedure.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for generating electronic patent application files, which includes steps of: creating multiple extensible markup language (XML) templates; setting basic requirements of drafted files; mapping the XML templates to chapter headers in the drafted files; analyzing and verifying whether the drafted files meet the basic requirements; parsing contents of the drafted files into corresponding XML templates if the drafted files meet the basic requirements; and generating XML patent application files according to the XML templates. A related system is also disclosed.

Abstract: A system and method for analyzing official notices of an electronically filed patent application are based on a file server that connects to patent office websites, a database, and client computers. An official notice of the patent application is downloaded from one of the patent office websites according to a download command from one of the client computers, and is converted to an image format document. Character data of the image format document are identified, and patent information of the electronically filed patent application are extracted from the character data using a regular expression. In addition, the patent information are analyzed to generate analysis results of the official notice according to the comparison.

Abstract: A computer-based method for creating XML files from an edited document is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: reading an edited document from a file transfer protocol (FTP) server; reading each of equation objects originally existed in the edited file and creating a tag image file (TIF) image according to the equation object being read; creating a joint photographic experts group (JPEG) image according to the TIF image and recording a pixel size of the JPEG image; creating an XML character string according to each paragraph in the edited file; inserting the XML character strings into different XML file templates, thereby obtaining different XML files. A related system is also disclosed.
