Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for user equipment (UE) devices to determine that it does not have cellular service and perform one or more searches for a mobile country code (MCC). The searches may include searches based on cellular modes, radio access technologies (RATs), and/or cellular bands. The UE may determine the MCC based on results of the one or more searches and perform a targeted service acquisition search based on, and limited by, the MCC. The MCC may be associated with one or more cellular modes, RATs, and/or cellular bands via a data structure that maps the MCC to the one or more cellular modes, RATs, and/or cellular bands. The targeted service acquisition search may include at least one RAT and one or more cellular bands within the at least one RAT associated with the MCC.

Abstract: A method for presenting tasks is provided. The method includes: acquiring an active index of each of tasks which are currently in operation in a terminal; ranking the tasks based on the active indices; and presenting the tasks according to a result of the ranking, wherein the active index is a frequency of the task being operated in the terminal.

Abstract: A method for presenting information includes: receiving a notification message when a display screen is in a screen-off state; and presenting the notification message on the display screen with darkening a selected object, when the display screen is switched into a screen-on state from the screen-off state. Herein the selected object comprises all or partial content displayed on the display screen except the notification message. Accordingly, the selected object can be darkened and hidden on the display screen while the notification message can be highlighted.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for user equipment (UE) devices to perform a radio access technology (RAT) upgrade. A UE may initiate a background scan to upgrade RAT while camped on a first system in response to an occurrence of a first condition. The first system may include a first PLMN that operates according a first RAT. The UE may determine a second system operates according to a second RAT that provides upgraded service as compared to the first RAT. The second system may be included in one or more systems found during the background scan. The UE may attempt to register on the second system based on the second PLMN operating according to the second RAT. The first and second PLMNs may each have an associated operator preference and the first PLMN may be preferred over the second PLMN.

Abstract: A video communication method and apparatus are provided. The method includes: determining whether or not to switch a video image for a video communication with a peer device of the terminal device and the terminal device when the video communication is in progress; switching the video image for the video communication from a first video image acquired by the terminal device to a second video image acquired by a designated smart device when it is determined to switch the video image for the video communication, the designated smart device being communicatively coupled to the terminal device; and sending the second video image to the peer device. Accordingly, video images acquired by the designated smart device may be flexibly switched at the terminal device side, and thus video images at the terminal device side can be displayed at a peer device of the terminal device flexibly.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system are provided for displaying usage records. The method includes: reading a usage record stored in a transportation card and acquiring a terminal number corresponding to the usage record; transmitting a route identifier query request to a server, the route identifier query request including the terminal number corresponding to the usage record; receiving a route identifier of a vehicle associated with the terminal number of the usage record; and displaying the usage record as well as the route identifier of a vehicle associated with the terminal number corresponding to the usage record.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus of verifying a terminal are provided in the field of computer technology. In the method, the terminal establishes a secure channel with a server through a secure element in the terminal The terminal sends original terminal hardware parameters in the secure element to the server through the secure channel by using the secure element, where the server is configured to feed back identification information according to the terminal hardware parameters. The terminal then determines a verification result of an authenticity of the terminal according to the identification information fed back by the server. The apparatus includes: a channel establishing module, a parameter sending module and a result determining module.

Abstract: A method, station and computer readable storage medium used for location aware network selection. A station determines a geographic location of the station, determines at least one predetermined Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) in the geographic location by comparing the geographic location to a database including stored geographic locations and PLMNs known to be present within each of the geographic locations, performs a targeted scan on select channels corresponding to the at least one predetermined PLMN to identify at least one available PLMN from among the at least one predetermined PLMN and selects one of the at least one available PLMN for the station to join.
