The flow control layer may provide, to the application via the service, an indication that a quantity of packets or bytes in a buffer of the flow control layer fails to satisfy a threshold. The UE may obtain, from the application, a packet associated with the flow based on providing the indication that the quantity of packets or bytes in the buffer fails to satisfy the threshold and may transmit, to a network entity, a message including the obtained packet.

The described techniques provide for a network entity to modify data packets received from a server according to a manifest file. For example, the server may transmit a mapping scheme to the network entity indicating a mapping between one or more protocol data unit (PDU) sets associated with a video frame and one or more encoded data streams associated with the video frame. The network entity may identify the associations according to the mapping scheme, and may select which data streams to forward to a user equipment (UE) based on a channel link quality between the network entity and the UE. Additionally, or alternatively, the server may indicate one or more transcoding parameters in the manifest file, and the network entity may transcode the data stream according to the one or more transcoding parameters.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) transmits reference signals for positioning while in Idle or Inactive state. While in a connected state, the UE is pre-configured with Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) resource configuration including at least one of timing adjustment (TA) and an uplink (UL) transmission spatial filter. The UE transmits positioning SRS while in Idle or Inactive mode based on the pre-configuration. The TA and UL transmission spatial filter may be updated by a serving base station using control signals or a paging message received by the UE while in in Idle or Inactive mode. The validity of the TA and UL transmission spatial filter may be monitored using expiration timers or a relative position change threshold. The reference signals transmitted may be based on a UE may Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH), which is insensitive to TA changes. A long sequence PRACH may be used for improved positioning accuracy.

A second feedback mode is a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback mode (e.g., which may be referred to as mode 2, or HARQ mode 2. The network may configure the UE with parameters for operating in mode 1, mode 2, or both, or the UE may select a feedback mode autonomously. The UE may refrain from transmitting additional feedback signaling, and retransmissions may be deactivated, resulting in improved power savings and more efficient use of system resources.
