The method includes assigning a same Internet Protocol (IP) address for a common broadcast service when the common broadcast service is provided in at least two IP platforms, each of the at least two IP platforms providing a broadcast service to a terminal; delivering the common broadcast service using the same IP address; and delivering related information relevant to the common broadcast service.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for receiving manifest information by a client from a broadcast involved system are provided. The method includes accessing the broadcast involved system, receiving timing information comprising a specific entry point to check the manifest information, and acquiring the manifest information from a broadcasting channel using the timing information.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for supporting mobility in a mobile broadcasting system in which Electronic Service Guide (ESG) discovery is required. The mobility support is classified into three ways according to three different aspects. The first way is to provide roaming information for a local IPDC operator having a roaming partner among local IPDC operators. In the second way, a terminal transmits a query message for requesting transmission of information on a particular local IPDC operator, and receives information on the particular local IPDC operator in response thereto. The third way is to provide the terminal with type information of an ESG; an access type of which is classified according to provision of a roaming service. The roaming information, the information on the particular local IPDC operator and the type information of the ESG, which are provided to the terminal from the mobile broadcasting system, can be provided in an ESG bootstrap level.

The method includes receiving one or more segments, each of which includes a manifest box, a moov box, and a media data box, from a server and analyzing the manifest box, the moov box, and the media data box; and decoding and reproducing the one or more segments based on a result of analyzing of the manifest box, moov box, and media data box, wherein the manifest box, moov box, and media data box are included in a single file.

Abstract: A method and apparatus of processing data to support Augmented Reality (AR) are provided. In the method, an image file including at least a scene description stream, an object descriptor stream, and a visual stream including a real-world medium is received, the scene description stream including an AR node that represents information about at least one piece of AR content used to augment the real-world medium, information about an AR locator and an object descriptor Identifier (ID) is acquired from the AR node, the AR locator describing when the at least one piece of AR content appears and how the real-world medium is augmented with the at least one piece of AR content and the object indicator ID identifying an Object Descriptor (OD) that describes the at least one piece of AR content, and at least one elementary stream descriptor.

The same broadcast services may be provided in multiple formats, and a broadcast receiver may selectively receive a broadcast service having a supportable format. Abstract: A handover method and apparatus in a digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) system that transmits/receives broadcast data through a frame group using different frequencies. A handover method includes receiving a first frame group header at a serving frequency, and receiving a burst of the desired service at the serving frequency according to a burst arrival time; calculating a first relative start time of a next frame group header; turning power off until a current time arrives at a next header arrival time; receiving a second frame group header at a searching frequency, and acquiring service information of the searching frequency necessary for handover to the searching frequency; returning to the serving frequency and turning the power off; and comparing signal power/quality of the listened frequencies with each other to select a best frequency, and switching to the selected frequency using the acquired corresponding service information.
