Abstract: A multifunctional portable data processing system having print, scan, and copy capabilities includes a portable computer having a housing, a display screen, a input panel, a pointing device, and a copy unit which may be within or attached to the housing. The copy unit includes a contact image sensor scan unit and a full page width ink jet printhead unit, an ink container, a paper path, paper feeding and ejecting rollers, control circuitry, and electrical power and standard data protocol data connections with the portable computer. The use of a stationary printhead unit and a reduced clock rate allows full functionality of the print system without sacrificing needed portability.

Abstract: A routing tool allows a user to create a set of routing templates, each specifying the shape of a routing corridor and identifying the corridor's terminal edges. Each routing template also specifies a set of constraints on routing of an unspecified number of conductors that are to be routed between the corridor's terminal edges. To direct the tool to create a routing plan for a particular set of conductors in a particular routing space, the user selects one of the routing templates and modifies the routing template if necessary to adjust the specified shape of the corridor to match that of the particular routing space or to adjust its specified routing constraints if necessary to accommodate any particular routing constraints to be imposed on that set of conductors. The routing tool then processes the modified routing template to generate the routing plan for routing the set of conductors between the terminal edges of the specified corridor in a manner that satisfies the specified routing constraints.

Abstract: The present invention relates to methods for assessing the risk of a patient for developing a potentially fatal cardiac dysrhythmia and for diagnosing Andersen's Syndrome. A tissue sample from a patient is obtained and the DNA or proteins of the sample isolated. From the DNA and protein isolates the sequence of the KCNJ2 gene or the Kir2.1 polypeptide can be obtained. The KCNJ2 gene or the Kir2.1 can be screened for alteration as compared to the wile-type sequence. An alteration in a copy of the KCNJ2 gene or a Kir2.1 polypeptide indicates that the patient has a high risk for developing a cardiac dysrhythmia and can be diagnosed with Andersen's Syndrome. The invention also related to isolated nucleic acid molecules with one or more alterations as compared to the wild-type sequence.

The method includes providing a plurality of saturated level-adjust voltages to various level adjustments of the display device when the central brightness is saturated. Then, a computation of the saturated level-adjust voltage of each level adjustment is carried out to obtain a display voltage of each level adjustment. Thereafter, a computation of the saturated level-adjust voltage, a common voltage and the display voltage of each level adjustment is carried out to obtain a feed-through voltage for each level adjustment. After that, a computation of the feed-through voltage and the saturated level-adjust voltage of each level adjustment is carried out to obtain a liquid crystal capacitance value for each level adjustment. Finally, a simulation of the liquid crystal capacitance value of each level adjustment is carried out to obtain an optimized level-adjust voltage for each level adjustment.
