  • Publication number: 20060021519
Abstract: A juicer includes a first body, and a second body pivotally mounted on the first body. The first body has a press portion having an inner wall formed with an overflow chamber and having a surface formed with a return hole communicating with the overflow chamber. The second body has a receiving chamber for receiving the press portion. Thus, the residual fruit juice that cannot flow outward from the central hole and the outlet holes of the receiving chamber is introduced through the return hole into the overflow chamber and is then poured outward from the outlet opening of the overflow chamber, thereby collecting the juice to the maximum extent.

  • Publication number: 20050205414
Abstract: Increased sidewall coverage by a sputtered material is achieved by generating an ionizing plasma in a relatively low pressure sputtering gas. By reducing the pressure of the sputtering gas, it is believed that the ionization rate of the deposition material passing through the plasma is correspondingly reduced which in turn is believed to increase the sidewall coverage by the underlayer. Although the ionization rate is decreased, sufficient bottom coverage of the by the material is maintained. In an alternative embodiment, increased sidewall coverage by the material may be achieved even in a high density plasma chamber by generating the high density plasma only during an initial portion of the material deposition. Once good bottom coverage has been achieved, the RF power to the coil generating the high density plasma may be turned off entirely and the remainder of the deposition conducted without the high density plasma.

  • Publication number: 20050175995
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods for assessing the risk of a patient for developing a potentially fatal cardiac dysrhythmia and for diagnosing Andersen's Syndrome. A tissue sample from a patient is obtained and the DNA or proteins of the sample isolated. From the DNA and protein isolates the sequence of the KCNJ2 gene or the Kir2.1 polypeptide can be obtained. The KCNJ2 gene or the Kir2.1 can be screened for alteration as compared to the wile-type sequence. An alteration in a copy of the KCNJ2 gene or a Kir2.1 polypeptide indicates that the patient has a high risk for developing a cardiac dysrhythmia and can be diagnosed with Andersen's Syndrome. The invention also related to isolated nucleic acid molecules with one or more alterations as compared to the wild-type sequence.

  • Publication number: 20050033075
Abstract: A series of noble metal organometallic complexes of the general formula (I): MLaXb(FBC)c, wherein M is a noble metal such as iridium, ruthenium or osmium, and L is a neutral ligand such as carbonyl, alkene or diene; X is an anionic ligand such as chloride, bromide, iodide and trifluoroacetate group; and FBC is a fluorinated bidentate chelate ligand such as beta diketonate, beta-ketoiminate, amino-alcoholate and amino-alcoholate ligand, wherein a is an integer of from zero (0) to three (3), b is an integer of from zero (0) to one (1) and c is an 10 integer of from one (1) to three (3). The resulting noble metal complexes possess enhanced volatility and thermal stability characteristics, and are suitable for chemical vapor deposition(CVD) applications. The corresponding noble metal complex is formed by treatment of the FBC ligand with a less volatile metal halide.

  • Publication number: 20050029694
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a transparent acrylic container having colored bubbles includes the following steps: (A) preforming a plurality of colored beads, (B) forming a container made of transparent acrylic material, (C) adding a foam agent and the colored beads into the container such that the foam agent produces a plurality of transparent bubbles, and (D) curing the container to produce a container product containing a mixture containing the transparent bubbles and the colored beads, thereby producing a visible effect of colored bubbles. Thus, the transparent bubbles are mixed with the colored beads to produce a visible effect of colored bubbles, thereby enhancing the aesthetic quality of the container product.

  • Publication number: 20050015822
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel gene which is associated with audiogenic seizures in mice. The gene is known as the Monogenic Audiogenic Seizure-susceptible gene or mass1. The product of the mass1 gene is designated MASS1. Nucleic acid molecules that encode for MASS1 have been identified and purified. The sequence of murine mass1 can be found at SEQ ID NO: 1, and the sequence of human mass1 can be found at SEQ ID NO: 3. Mammalian genes encoding a MASS1 protein are also provided. The invention also provides recombinant vectors comprising nucleic acid molecules that code for a MASS1 protein. These vectors can be plasmids. In certain embodiments, the vectors are prokaryotic or eukaryotic expression vectors. The nucleic acid coding for MASS1 can be linked to a heterologous promoter. The invention also relates to transgenic animals in which one or both alleles of the endogenous mass1 gene is mutated.

  • Publication number: 20040146873
Abstract: The present invention includes the disclosure of the hPER2 gene and a mutant of the hPER2 gene that participates in the human circadian biological clock. The product of the mutant hPER2 gene found in some familial advanced sleep phase syndrome patients is hypophosphorylated by casein kinase epsilon due to the serine-to-glycine mutation caused by the point mutation of the genomic sequence. Specifically, this serine-to-glycine mutation affects the casein kinase epsilon binding region of the hPER2 protein, thus blocking the phosphorylation cascade ordinarily caused by the binding of casein kinase epsilon to hPER2.
