  • Patent number: 10330489
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for resolving erroneous movement signals and for providing navigation instructions. One of the methods includes receiving data from two or more sensors, synchronizing the received data, determining a first subset of the synchronized data from the camera for a particular period of time and a second subset of the synchronized data from the other sensor for the particular period of time, comparing the first subset with the second subset to determine whether the first subset and the second subset indicate an erroneous movement signal, based on determining that the first subset and the second subset indicate an erroneous movement signal, selecting data for one of the sensors based on a sensor priority scheme for the sensors, and resolving the erroneous movement signal based on the selected data for the one of the sensors.

  • Publication number: 20190172409
Abstract: The present disclosure provides devices and techniques for dynamically adjusting the bias voltage (V) levels (e.g., low level gate voltage (VGL) and high level gate voltage (VGH)) for display screens made with thin-film transistor (TFT) technology based on a display run time. Thus, as the positive bias temperature stress for the TFTs increases over the course of the display lifetime, features of the present disclosure adjust the bias voltage levels to maintain operation margin (e.g., the ratio between the high level gate voltage (VGH) value and the voltage value which the display can maintain with normal operation).

  • Patent number: 10308878
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an economically viable co-process for converting biomass to liquid biohydrocarbon fuels and for upgrading heavy deteriorate petrol-oils to high value transportation fuels. In the process, cellulose, hemi-cellulose and lignin, which are composed of ligno-cellulosic biomass, are converted to the bio-hydrocarbons (alkanes and aromatics) that are currently derived almost exclusively from fossil fuels. The resulted hydrocarbon liquid can be separated against their boiling points for gasoline, diesel and heavy oils. The heavy oils can then cracked into lower molecular weight hydrocarbons. Meanwhile, the co-processed heavy petro-fuels are partially converted into lower molecular weight hydrocarbons that fall in the boiling point range of gasoline and diesel.

  • Publication number: 20190156737
Abstract: A display driver circuit includes a first memory in which a plurality of gamma adjustment datasets are stored, each gamma adjustment dataset of the plurality of gamma adjustment datasets corresponding with a respective amount of display degradation, a second memory in which selection instructions and compensation instructions are stored, and a processor configured via execution of the selection instructions to select one of the plurality of gamma adjustment datasets based on usage data indicative of past display operation. The processor is further configured via execution of the compensation instructions to generate drive control signaling in accordance with the selected gamma adjustment dataset to compensate for display degradation arising from the past display operation.

  • Publication number: 20190114971
Abstract: Varying electrical currents are selectively applied to each pixel within an OLED display to create desired images. High applied electrical currents to groupings of nearby pixels create high luminance features, while low applied electrical currents to groupings of nearby pixels create low luminance features. A combination of a high luminance and low luminance features may be present on the OLED display. Pulse-width modulation (PWM) is often used to increase the current applied to the OLED display by modulating the applied current, particularly when creating low luminance features. The presently disclosed systems and methods detect a gray portion of an image to be presented, and select PWM independently of peak luminance based on the detected gray portion. The allows the OLED display to display low-luminance features at high quality, even when high-luminance features are also present within a frame.

  • Publication number: 20190114963
Abstract: While organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display devices are often calibrated upon commissioning to provide similar output colors in response to input signals, they are not calibrated based on varying display content. Significant variation in output color as a function of varying output display content is increasingly unacceptable to users. In an OLED display, an emissive electroluminescent layer selectively emits light in discrete areas in response to an electric current. Higher overall applied electrical currents correspond to higher overall output luminesces, however, as current is increased, attendant voltage generally drops. Variation in attendant voltage causes variation in output color.

By dynamically adjusting the bias voltage levels, the TFT displays of the present disclosure consume lower power than their conventional counterparts and improve the lifetime of the display itself.

  • Patent number: 10223952
Abstract: An electronic display comprises a display matrix and an image-correcting layer. The display matrix includes a flat face portion, a curved corner portion, a light-releasing surface, and a series of pixels extending across the flat face portion and around the curved corner portion. Coupled to the light-releasing surface of the display matrix, the image-correcting layer is configured to transmit light released from the flat face portion of the display matrix and to reorient light released from the curved corner portion of the display matrix such that the transmitted light and the reoriented light exit the image-correcting layer substantially in parallel, forming an apparent plane image of the series of pixels.

  • Patent number: 10181278
Abstract: The description relates to display devices. One example can receive a first frame rendering that expresses color content with a defined number of bits that convey a set of color states that correspond to a first range of voltages for driving light emitting diodes (LEDs) of a display. The example can obtain information about degradation of the LEDs of the display. The example can also combine the defined number of bits that express the color content with additional degradation compensation overdrive bits relating to compensating for the degradation of the LEDs of the display. The example can map the combined defined number of bits and the additional degradation compensation overdrive bits to a second range of voltages for driving the display where individual values of the second range exceed the first range.

  • Patent number: 10146090
Abstract: Display devices with a minimized border and methods of manufacturing display devices are described herein. In one example, a display unit is provided, the display unit having a display active area disposed between an encapsulation layer and a substrate such that the encapsulation layer encloses the display active area between a surface of the encapsulation layer and a surface of the substrate. A section of the display unit is cut at one edge of the display unit such that a portion of the encapsulation layer and a portion of the substrate are removed from the display unit while no display active area is removed. The cut section of the display unit is then sealed.

  • Publication number: 20180342200
Abstract: A graphical display device includes a plurality of color-specific subpixels spatially distributed across a display region. Subpixel wear compensation is performed for some or all of the color-specific subpixels. For each color-specific subpixel, the compensation may include sampling one or more display signals directed to the color-specific subpixel to obtain a time-series of sampled values. The compensation may further include storing, in non-volatile storage, compensation data for the color-specific subpixel derived from the time-series of sampled values. The compensation may further include driving the color-specific subpixel based on the compensation data.
