The display module includes a substrate and a plurality of pixels supported by the substrate. The substrate includes a curved portion along the edge, the curved portion bending rearward such that peripheral pixels of the plurality of pixels are disposed laterally between the substrate and the sidewall. The display further includes edge compensation means for compensating for a curvature of the curved portion to direct light from the peripheral pixels toward the normal of the display. An extent to which the edge compensation means compensates for the curvature varies in accordance with lateral position of the peripheral pixels along the curved portion.

In at least some implementations, a computing device includes a plurality of sub-pixels within a pixel which may generate an alternating display to approximate the display of a single sub-pixel. In other implementations, a voltage is applied to sub-pixels of a color such that a voltage across a first sub-pixel is proportional to a voltage across one or more additional sub-pixels. In other implementations, a change in a voltage drop across a sub-pixel is detected, and the change is compensated for by altering a voltage of a second sub-pixel within the pixel.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides devices and techniques for dynamically adjusting the bias voltage (V) levels (e.g., low level gate voltage (VGL) and high level gate voltage (VGH)) for display screens made with thin-film transistor (TFT) technology based on a display run time. Thus, as the positive bias temperature stress for the TFTs increases over the course of the display lifetime, features of the present disclosure adjust the bias voltage levels to maintain operation margin (e.g., the ratio between the high level gate voltage (VGH) value and the voltage value which the display can maintain with normal operation). By dynamically adjusting the bias voltage levels, the TFT displays of the present disclosure consume lower power than their conventional counterparts and improve the lifetime of the display itself.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is an economically viable co-process for converting biomass to liquid biohydrocarbon fuels and for upgrading heavy deteriorate petrol-oils to high value transportation fuels. In the process, cellulose, hemi-cellulose and lignin, which are composed of ligno-cellulosic biomass, are converted to the bio-hydrocarbons (alkanes and aromatics) that are currently derived almost exclusively from fossil fuels. The resulted hydrocarbon liquid can be separated against their boiling points for gasoline, diesel and heavy oils. The heavy oils can then cracked into lower molecular weight hydrocarbons. Meanwhile, the co-processed heavy petro-fuels are partially converted into lower molecular weight hydrocarbons that fall in the boiling point range of gasoline and diesel.
