  • Publication number: 20210337576
Abstract: A base station (BS) may determine (estimate) a preparation time for at least one uplink (UL) transmission by a user equipment (UE) on at least one radio frequency (RF) carrier. The BS may use the preparation time to ensure that the BS sends a grant for the at least one transmission to the UE a sufficient amount of time before the at least one transmission is scheduled to occur to give the UE sufficient time to conduct the at least one UL transmission. In some examples, the BS determines the preparation time based on adjusting an uplink preparation time according to a defined value. In some examples, the BS determines the preparation time based on a subcarrier spacing (SCS) index. The BS may select the SCS index used to determine the preparation time from smallest of the SCS indexes configured for the different RF carriers.

  • Publication number: 20210274511
Abstract: The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support interference mitigation for remote devices. A first wireless device (e.g., a base station) may detect remote interference with its communications caused by a second wireless device (e. g., a second, remote base station) based on, for example, a measured interference over thermal noise level exceeding a threshold. The first wireless device may identify a set of time-frequency resources for remote interference reference signals and a data transmission for a user equipment (UE) that is in communication with the first wireless device. The first wireless device may transmit a remote interference signal to a second wireless device (e. g., a second base station) via the set of time-frequency resources. The first wireless device may further signal a resource allocation to the UE for the UE to use for transmitting uplink transmissions to the first wireless device.

  • Publication number: 20210266778
Abstract: Aspects are provided allowing a first base station to distinguish between cross-link interference and remote interference caused to a second base station and to apply different mitigation mechanisms based on the type of interference. A UE receives from a second base station a reference signal based on a reference signal identifier that indicates a location of the second base station that is experiencing interference from the first base station. The UE sends to the first base station an indication of the reference signal received from the second base station. The first base station receives from the UE the indication of the reference signal from the second base station based on the reference signal identifier. The first base station applies a mitigation mechanism based on whether the reference signal identifier indicates that the second base station is a remote base station or a neighbor base station.

  • Publication number: 20210076381
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems (e.g., non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems), a base station may serve a large number of user equipments (UEs) on the uplink. To improve detectability for these uplink transmissions (e.g., if reference signals are not available for the transmissions), the UEs may implement parallel transmissions of preambles with uplink data. A UE may split the uplink data into one or more data layers, and may select one or more preamble layers to transmit superposed with the data layers. These preambles may be sequences known to both the UE and the base station to aid in detectability. The UE may assign different signature sequences to each of these layers based on cross-correlation values (e.g., assigning sequences with higher cross-correlation values to the data layers for improved detectability), and may scramble the layers into a single shared signal for transmission.

  • Publication number: 20210068111
Abstract: Sequence selection techniques for Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) are provided. A User Equipment (UE) sends a request to a base station, the request indicating that the UE is to conduct at least one uplink transmission. The UE receives, in response to the request, an indicator of an expected system load, a value of the indicator including a total number of sequences expected to be used at one time for uplink transmissions in the system. The UE detects that at least two different pairs of sequences in a configured set of sequences have different cross correlation values, the sequences in the set configured for scrambling uplink transmissions. The UE selects, in response to the detecting and based on the indicator, at least one sequence with an improved cross correlation with at least one other sequence the at least one sequence and the at least one other sequence to be used for scrambling uplink transmissions within the system.

The network node may also introduce time variations in fields of a base station almanac (BSA) provided to subscribing user equipments (UEs). The information transmitted to the subscribing UEs may be encrypted.
