  • Patent number: 6061304
Abstract: An electronic watch is provided with an electric power generator for generating electric energy by external energy, electric power charger for charging the electric energy generated by the electric power generator, a watch driving system comprising a watch driving circuit and a time display sub-system, operated by electric energy supplied by the electric power charger, a stored electric power detector for detecting an amount of electric energy charged in the electric power charger, and a controller. Operation of at least the time display sub-system of the watch driving system is suspended when the amount of electric energy stored as detected by the stored electric power detector falls below a preset standard value, and thereafter, operation of the suspended portion of the watch driving system is resumed upon detecting conditions for reactivation, such operation being continued at least for a period when preset conditions are met.

  • Patent number: 5897330
Abstract: A thermoelectric power generation unit comprises a plurality of dissimilar thermoelectric structures (20, 21) laid in alternating layers. Adjacent thermoelectric bodies incorporated in each of the thermoelectric structures are connected together in series. Respective thermoelectric structures are fabricated by the steps of forming a stripe-shaped pattern on a substrate (10) using a photosensitive resin (12), forming a polymer film on the underside of the substrate, forming first thermoelectric bodies (15) and second thermoelectric bodies (17) by plating on an electrode film (11) inside openings of the photosensitive resin, coating the first thermoelectric bodies (15) and second thermoelectric bodies (17) with a thermosetting resin (16), dissolving the substrate (10) and electrode film (11) thereafter.

  • Patent number: 5546327
Abstract: The zenithal angle of a spherical surface is divided at regular intervals, the horizontal angle thereof is also divided at regular intervals in correspondence with each of the zenithal angles, and in addition, the intensity of each energy line emitted from the center of the bottom surface of the spherical surface at the divided zenithal and horizontal angles corresponds to each zenithal angle. Thus, the energy lines can be isotropically emitted from the center of the bottom surface the spherical surface. The emitted energy lines are traced from the center to each object surface and the intensity of each energy line which has reached each object surface are added to each other. Then, the intensity obtained by the addition is divided by the intensity of entire energy lines emitted from the center. Thus, the geometrical view factor of each object surface can be found quickly and accurately.

  • Patent number: 4987568
Abstract: A monitor system for a multiplex equipment is disclosed, in which a multiplexer and a demultiplexer are monitored by direct comparison of input and output signals thereof. Low-bit-rate output interfaces and high-bit-rate output interfaces include signal-loss detectors respectively. Low-bit-rates input interfaces and high-bit-rate input interfaces, on the other hand, include signal-loss detectors or frame alignment-loss detectors and selectors for loop outputs of the output interfaces of respective speeds back upon the input sides of the input interfaces of respective speeds. An economical monitor circuit for detecting a fault of a multiplex converter and accurately is thus configured without using any bipolar signal switching circuit or low- or high-bit-rate B/U converters.

  • Patent number: 4507354
Abstract: An electromagnetic wave absorber comprising an electromagnetic wave absorbing layer consisting essentially of silicon carbide fibers, which layer may be applied to a metal plate. The wave absorber comprising the absorbing layer-applied metal plate exerts wave absorption expressed in terms of a wave attenuation which is at least 10 dB higher than the inherent attenuation caused by reflection of the wave by the absorbing layer-free original metal plate, the wave used being one which has a frequency of 8-16 GHz. Further, the silicon carbide fibers may be made into woven cloths, mat felts or the like which are laminated together and then composited with a synthetic resin or ceramics to prepare the wave absorbing layer.
