    Abstract: A method for dynamically managing power consumption, as well as a wake-up method, is disclosed for a wireless weighing platform. The method is initialized by setting both light and deep sleep period, entering a normal operating state, and starting light sleep timing. As long as no weighing operation is detected and the light sleep period has not expired, the method seeks to detect the weighing operation. If the light sleep period expires with no weighing operation, a light sleep state is entered, by turning off a communication function and starting timing for the deep sleep period. If no weighing is when the deep sleep period has expired, the wireless weighing platform enters a deep sleep state, by turning off power supply other than that for an acceleration sensor. If the acceleration sensor detects an effective vibration while in the deep sleep state, the normal operating state is restarted.

    Abstract: A method of controlling fines migration in a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation, the method comprising: introducing into the wellbore a screen mesh in an unexpanded form disposed of a first tubular member having a body with apertures, the screen mesh comprising a degradable material; expanding the screen mesh; injecting a cement slurry into the wellbore to fill open spaces within the expanded screen mesh; allowing the cement slurry to set forming a set cement that reduces or substantially preventing the passage of formation particles from migrating from the subterranean formation into the wellbore; and removing the degradable material of the screen mesh forming a fluid pathway in the set cement, which allows a formation fluid to flow from the subterranean formation into the wellbore.

For example, a wireless device may detect an out-of-band triggering event and activate a wireless interface capable of peer-to-peer communications in response. The wireless device may transmit one or more discovery messages (e.g., discovery beacons, active subscribe messages, and/or unsolicited publish messages) over the wireless interface immediately after activation of the wireless interface to aid in discovery of the peer device. The one or more discovery messages may be transmitted as service discovery frames. The wireless device may perform service discovery over the wireless interface with the peer device post discovery.

The concentration of the divalent-metal salt of an organic acid in the aqueous solution may be 50 mM to the saturation concentration. It is possible to provide a temperature-responsive gel having an LCST with no volume phase transition and a method for producing the temperature-responsive gel.

    Abstract: Roughly described, a task control system for managing multi-scale simulations receives a case/task list which identifies cases to be evaluated, at least one task for each of the cases, and dependencies among the tasks. A module allocates available processor cores to at least some of the tasks, constrained by the dependencies, and initiates execution of the tasks on allocated cores. A module, in response to completion of a particular one of the tasks, determines whether or not the result of the task warrants stopping or pruning tasks, and if so, then terminates or prunes one or more of the uncompleted tasks in the case/task list. A module also re-allocates available processor cores to pending not-yet-executing tasks in accordance with time required to complete the tasks and constrained by the dependencies, and initiates execution of the tasks on allocated cores.
