Abstract: A crash pad for mounting an airbag for a vehicle includes a base layer made of a hard material and an outer cover layer made of a soft material. An opening is formed in the base layer, and a mounting housing is formed integrally with the base layer. An airbag door is coupled at one end thereof to the base layer. In the crash pad, the airbag mounting housing is integrated into the crash pad, thus reducing manufacturing costs. Further, the airbag door is separately installed, and a cutting operation is not required, so that the opening force of an airbag cushion is not reduced, and the opening direction of the cushion does not deviate from a predetermined direction.

Abstract: A signboard integral with an LED lamp includes a lamp post and a display device mounted in the lamp post. The display device includes a box, a transparent plate mounted on an opened end of the box, a panel mounted on a side of the transparent plate and a luminous member consisting a plurality of LEDs hermetically received in the box and located at another side of the transparent plate. The panel has a plurality of holes representing marks to be shown by the signboard. Light generated by the luminous member radiates through the transparent plate and the holes of the panel to display the marks represented by the holes. The marks could be a company logo, brand, trademark or other information.

Abstract: A data management system or “DMS” provides data services to data sources associated with a set of application host servers. The data management system typically comprises one or more regions, with each region having one or more clusters. A given cluster has one or more nodes that share storage. When providing continuous data protection and data distribution, the DMS nodes create distributed object storage to provide the necessary real-time data management services. The objects created by the DMS nodes are so-called active objects. The distributed object store can be built above raw storage devices, a traditional file system, a special purpose file system, a clustered file system, a database, and so on. According to the present invention, the DMS active object store provides an indexing service to the active objects. In an illustrative embodiment, any object property that has a given attribute is indexed and, as a result, the attribute becomes searchable.

Abstract: A rechargeable battery includes: an electrode group including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode; a case housing the electrode group; a cap-up electrically connected with the electrode group and combined with the case; a vent plate installed below the cap-up and having a notch; and a heterogeneous metallic member installed between the cap-up and the vent plate and made of a clad metal, whereby the stability and outputting of the rechargeable battery can be improved.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for transmitting digital broadcasting signals and a method and apparatus for receiving digital broadcasting signals that divide a stream into a plurality of layers according to characteristics of the stream, that independently process the layers, and that dynamically allocate frequencies on the basis of the processed signals. A method of transmitting digital broadcasting signals includes dividing a single stream into a plurality of layers according to characteristics of the stream; performing encoding and mapping on each of the layers; and dynamically allocating a frequency to each of the layers on the basis of the number of symbols for each layer.

Abstract: A rechargeable battery includes an electrode group for producing electricity, a case for housing the electrode group, a cap plate combined with the case, an electrode terminal electrically coupled to the electrode group, and a fixing member disposed inside the case and combined to the support shaft portion. The electrode terminal includes a head portion disposed outside the case, and a support shaft portion protruding from the head portion and penetrating the cap plate. Contact resistance of the rechargeable battery can be reduced with this configuration.

Abstract: An air intake method and system of an air conditioner for a vehicle may include a temperature measuring step, a speed sensing step, a blower sensing step, and a simultaneous indoor and outdoor air intake step. The air intake system includes a water temperature sensor for measuring the temperature of cooling water of the vehicle, a speed sensor for measuring the speed of the vehicle, a control switch for turning on or off a blower, a control unit and an intake actuator. The control unit receives the temperature measured by the water temperature sensor, the speed measured by the speed sensor and ON/OFF data from the control switch, thus determining whether to simultaneously draw indoor and outdoor air in or not. The intake actuator provides driving force so that an indoor and outdoor air control door simultaneously opens indoor and outdoor air inlets.

Abstract: A laser machining system comprises a laser configured to generate a laser output for forming a molten pool on a substrate, a nozzle configured to supply a growth material to the molten pool for depositing the material on the substrate, and an optical unit configured to capture a plurality of grayscale images comprising temperature data during the laser deposition process, wherein the grayscale images correspond to respective ones of a plurality of radiation beams with different desired wavelengths. Further, the laser machining system comprises an image-processing unit configured to process the grayscale images to retrieve the temperature data according to linear relationships between temperatures in the laser deposition process and the corresponding grayscales of the respective images. A laser machining method is also presented.

Abstract: An audio system to calibrate an audio signal based on a wirelessly received signal, and a signal calibration method are provided. The audio system includes a sound output unit to output a sound corresponding to a received audio signal. A transceiver is connected to an external device to enable wireless communication between a main unit and the external device. The external device converts the sound output from the sound output unit into an electric signal to generate a calibration audio signal. The main unit performs calibration on an audio signal to be played back through the sound output unit using the calibration audio signal.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a sensor probe for fiber-based electric current sensors. The sensor probe includes a conductor of spiral shape and a relatively straight optical fiber being placed at a through-hole formed by the spiral shape conductor. An electric current conveyed by the spiral shape conductor causes polarization direction of a light traveling along the optical fiber to rotate. By detecting the amount of rotation that the light experiences at the ends of the optical fiber, the amount of current carried by the spiral shape conductor is determined. Method of making the sensor probe is also disclosed.

The present invention includes determining an intra reference block in a current view layer by using an intra motion information of an inter-reference unit in a reference view layer, the inter-reference unit being partially decoded and decoding the current block in the current view layer by using the intra-reference block. Accordingly, in coding a video signal, pictures failing to be substantially referred to for reconstruction of a current picture can be omitted. According to another aspect of the present invention, residual information having high redundancy is omitted to raise a compression ratio.
