    Abstract: A method estimates a 3D pose of a 3D specular object in an environment. In a preprocessing step, a set of pairs of 2D reference images are generated using a 3D model of the object, and a set of poses of the object, wherein each pair of reference images is associated with one of the poses. Then, a pair of 2D input images are acquired of the object. A rough 3D pose of the object is estimated by comparing features in the pair of 2D input images and the features in each pair of 2D reference images using a rough cost function. The rough estimate is optionally refined using a fine cost function.

Heaters are formed on the surfaces of the respective holes to contact the lower electrodes. A second insulation layer is formed to fill the holes in which the heaters are formed. A phase change layer is formed on the mask pattern including the exposed portions of the heaters and the first and second insulation layers and subsequently, upper electrodes are formed on the phase change layer.

PN diodes are formed in the first contact holes. Heat sinks are formed in the first contact holes on the PN diodes, and contact plugs fill the second contact holes. A second insulation layer having third contact holes is formed on the first insulation layer. Heaters fill the third contact holes. A stack pattern of a phase change layer and a top electrode is formed to contact the heaters. The heat sink quickly cools heat transferred from the heater to the phase change layer.

    Abstract: A laparoscopic liver resection device is described. The device combines the Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) technology with a cutting mechanism, a blood-flow sensor and a flexible actuation mechanism to simultaneously coagulate and cut the liver tissue and detect the presence of blood flow to confirm avascularity. The present invention eliminates the risk of excess bleeding due to cutting too deep and reduces recovery time and the time spent on re-coagulation of coagulated areas, thereby shortening duration of surgery. Also embodiments prevent excess ablation by stopping ablation activity on the target tissue as soon as insufficient or no blood flow in the target tissue is detected. Thus a closed loop control for a bloodless tissue/organ division method is provided.
