    Abstract: In a crystal growth furnace having an array of vertically arranged heaters to provide controlled heating zones within a chamber, and a crucible for holding crystal material, wherein the crystal is grown vertically through the heating zones, the improvement includes a laser mounted outside the chamber which radiates a beam of energy to locally melt precipitates and inclusions. The furnace includes a mechanism to position the laser vertically to, at or near the interface between the formed crystal and crystal melt material above the formed crystal. The crystal material can be CdZnTe.

The magnetic layer comprises a ferrimagnetic or antiferrimagnetic material having a first and second magnetic sub-lattice, wherein the first sub-lattice is a dominant sub-lattice such that the charge carriers at the Fermi energy originate predominantly from the dominant sub-lattice and the charge carriers at the Fermi energy are spin polarised. In some embodiments, the dominant current carrying sub-lattice may lack inversion symmetry.

The method includes: constructing a first generative adversarial network and a second generative adversarial network; obtaining a mapping relationship between a non-attenuation-corrected PET image and an attenuation-corrected PET image by training the first generative adversarial network; obtaining a mapping relationship between the attenuation-corrected PET image and a CT image by training the second generative adversarial network; and generating the composite PET-CT image by utilizing the obtained mapping relationships. According to the present disclosure, a high-quality PET-CT image can be directly composited from a non-attenuation-corrected PET image, and medical costs can be reduced for patients, and radiation doses applied to the patients in examination processes can be minimized.
