    Abstract: In a flash memory device, electrical connections between segment transistors and memory cells are accurately achieved by forming the segment transistors before forming the memory cells. When forming the segment transistors, a first impurity is implanted into a substrate to form a first source and a first drain. A second impurity is then implanted into the substrate to form a conductive line to be used as a common bit line for the memory cells, and simultaneously form a second source below the first source and a second drain below the first drain of the segment transistor. As such, the common bit lines of the memory cells and the second sources of the segment transistors are formed to be electrically connected together with more reliability.

    Abstract: In a method and arrangement for controlling a monitor, a video signal is transmitted from a computer to the monitor and is sampled to digitize it and obtain a corresponding signal. Control of the monitor is achieved according to the corresponding signal. A computer program is executed to select a function for controlling the monitor, and a control signal is output through a video card of the computer. Then, color signals transmitted from the computer are sampled to analyze a control function and carry it out. Accordingly, the monitor can be controlled using software, even in a system which does not use a separate cable or does not employ a USB device. The number of control keys set on the monitor can be reduced, and a user is permitted to control various functions. The product cost of the monitor is decreased, and design of the front of the monitor is simplified.

The hue and saturation data, which are received in accordance with a keypress, are transformed into RGB control data by hue and saturation conversions. The saturation data denotes a distance from a white point on an X-Y chromaticity coordinate system of the display apparatus to a chromaticness point on the chromaticity coordinate system, and the hue data denotes an angle made by a first line connecting a red point on the coordinate system and the white point with a second line connecting the white point and the chromaticness point. Finally, the gains and DC biases of the RGB video signals are controlled on the basis of the RGB control data.

    Abstract: 0An apparatus and method for saving power by cutting off the power supplied to a monitor when an input signal does not exist for a given time period. An input signal is checked to see if it is sensed from input means of the monitor. A power circuit is operated each time the input signal is sensed and simultaneously a time value for performing a power saving mode is set in a reference buffer. The receiving time of the input signal is counted by updating the time value set in the reference buffer each time an interrupt signal is received from a timer, and then the time value of the reference buffer is read. If the input signal is not sensed until a setting time elapses, an operating voltage of the monitor is cut off by controlling the operation of the power circuit.
