Abstract: A micro-mirror device package including a micro-mirror device; a substrate, on which the micro-mirror device is mounted; and a window lid mounted on the substrate to cover the micro-mirror device. The window lid has a light transmitting part, which is sloped in relation to the micro-mirror device, and through which laser beams are transmitted to the micro-mirror device, and supporting parts downwardly extending from the light transmitting part. When a laser beam is inputted, the package separates the laser beam from noise beams, thereby improving the quality of image on a screen. By fabricating an array of window lids which correspond to micro-mirror devices, respectively, it is possible to fabricate the above-mentioned micro-mirror device package through a batch process performed in terms of a wafer size.

  • Publication number: 20060250654
Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and method for preventing the distortion of an image. The apparatus includes a signal insertion portion that inserts a sensing signal in an image signal that has information about an image and outputs the image signal in which the sensing signal is inserted as a scanning signal. A scanning portion generates light corresponding to the scanning signal and scans the light while operating in response to a drive signal that determines a direction for scanning the light. A detection portion senses the scanned light and detects the sensing signal. A sensing condition reflection portion checks whether the detected sensing signal matches a preset sensing condition and resets at least one of the image signal and the drive signal in response to a result of the check.

  • Publication number: 20060232610
Abstract: A display device includes a handset having a display window on which an image is displayed, a projection unit included in the handset and enlarging an image and projecting the enlarged image, and a screen movably installed on the handset and displaying the enlarged and projected image thereon. In the display device, an image that the handset displays is displayed on the screen that is larger than the display window of the handset. Thus, various contents such as Internet search or movie can be viewed through an enlarged screen of a mobile handset with more convenience and sense of liveliness. Furthermore, the display device can enlarge an image and project the enlarged image onto a screen for a long time by using a laser scanning method that exhibits a superior optical efficiency and a low power consumption.

  • Publication number: 20060175545
Abstract: The system includes an illumination system, a scanner, a non-linear optical element, and a pumping light source. The illumination system emits imaging beam and the scanner scans the beam incident from the illumination system. The non-linear optical element is made of a material having a Kerr effect or the like and forms a lens automatically aligned while following a path of the imaging beam scanned from the scanner. The pumping light source actives the non-linear optical element to cause a non-linear refractive index change of the non-linear optical element.
