  • Publication number: 20160125782
Abstract: A loading effect control device includes a detecting line, a detector, a load controller, and a gamma reference voltage generator. The detecting line is coupled to a first power supply line in a display panel, and the first power supply line provides a first power voltage. The detector measures the first power voltage in the display panel through the detecting line, detects an amount of load of the display panel, and outputs a first voltage corresponding to the detected amount of the load. The load controller determines a control amount of the load based on the detected load amount and a loading effect setting. The gamma reference voltage generator controls a gamma reference voltage based on the control amount of the load.

  • Patent number: 8902388
Abstract: A display device may include a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer. The first substrate may include a domain-forming layer including a depression pattern for forming a liquid crystal domain in a pixel area and a pixel electrode formed on the domain-forming layer. The second substrate may face the first substrate. The second substrate may include a common electrode formed on the entire surface thereof. The liquid crystal layer may be disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The liquid crystal layer may include a reactive mesogen (RM) which fixes liquid crystal molecules formed in the liquid crystal domain. Since a liquid crystal domain may be formed without a separate pattern on a common electrode, a display device having an enhanced aperture ratio and an enhanced viewing angle may be manufactured.

In the liquid crystal display, at least one of two panel plates has a polarizer placed on an outer side which is opposite to a liquid crystal layer and a quarter wavelength retardation plate between a substrate glass and the polarizer. The quarter wavelength retardation plate is composed of two retardation films including a half wavelength and a quarter wavelength retardation film. A slow axis of a half ? film which is adjacent to the polarizer makes an angle of ?1 with a transmissive axis of the polarizer and that of a quarter ? film which is adjacent to the substrate glass makes an angle of ?2 where ?2=2×?1±45 degree. The retardation films are single-axial films. The specific angle ?1 is one of degree values (15, 75, 105, and 165).
