  • Publication number: 20110101865
Abstract: A multi-lamp driving system includes a power supply and at least one balance transformer. Each balance transformer includes two cores, two primary windings, two secondary windings and two protection windings. Each primary winding is wrapped around a core and serially connected to a lamp to form a first circuit branch in parallel connection with each other. The first circuit branches are powered by the power supply. The Each secondary winding is wrapped around a core and connected to a primary winding. The two secondary windings are connected in series to form a short circuit loop. Each of the protection windings is wrapped around a core and connected to a primary winding. The protection windings are wrapped in opposite directions and connected in series to form a second circuit branch. The second circuit branch outputs voltage signals to the power supply when induced voltages crossing the protection windings are unequal.

  • Patent number: 7916761
Abstract: A method for adding latency and jitter to a number of selected packets transmitted between end systems within a network of end systems is described. The method includes receiving a packet identifier, the packet identifier indicating a selected packet to which latency and jitter is to be added, receiving a selected latency and jitter for the selected packet, receiving a packet, determining if the received packet is the selected packet, and forwarding the received packet to its destination if the received packet is not the selected packet. If the received packet is the selected packet, the method continues by reading a real time clock, computing a transmit time for the received packet based on the selected latency and jitter for the selected packet, and forwarding the received packet to its destination when the real time clock reaches the computed transmit time.

Abstract: A light source driving device for driving a light source includes a power stage circuit, a transformer circuit, a control circuit, and a fault detecting circuit. The power stage circuit converts an external electrical signal to an alternating current (AC) signal. The transformer circuit is connected between the power stage circuit and the light source to convert the AC signal to a high voltage electrical signal adapted for driving the light source. The fault detecting circuit detects whether the light source is nonfunctional, and outputs a fault signal upon the condition that the light source is nonfunctional. The fault detecting circuit includes a voltage level comparison circuit and a variable-benchmark voltage circuit. The control circuit is connected between the fault detecting circuit and the power stage circuit to output a control signal to the power stage circuit based on the fault signal.

  • Publication number: 20100181920
Abstract: A backlight driving system comprises an inverter module, a current balance module, a feedback module and an open-lamp protection detection module. The inverter module provides electrical signals to a plurality of lamps. The current balance module balances currents flowing through the plurality of lamps. The feedback module detects the current of the backlight and generates a feedback signal to the invert module accordingly. The open-lamp protection detection module detects voltage variations of the feedback transformer and generates a detection signal to the inverter module accordingly. The inverter module regulates the currents flowing through the plurality of lamps according to the feedback signal and determines one or more of the plurality of lamps are faulty according to the detection signal generated by the open-lamp protection detection module, and stops providing the electrical signals to the plurality of lamps.

  • Publication number: 20100012668
Abstract: An environmental protection and sanitary straw cap is revealed. The straw cap is a hollow tube in which one end is a close end and the other end is an open end. A straw is inserted into the straw cap through the open end. A cut is arranged at a wall of the straw cap and part of the wall of the straw cap opposite to the cut is a connection section. The width of the connection section is smaller than a diameter of the straw cap. Thereby the straw covered with the straw cap achieves sanitation. Moreover, the straw cap is environmental protective due to the reduction of material used in production of the straw cap that covers only one end of the straw and its reuses. Furthermore, the straw cap can be applied to both straight straws and bendable straws. The applicability of the straw cap is enhanced.

  • Publication number: 20080191639
Abstract: A backlight module that includes a lamp and a single side driving inverter that is coupled to one end of the lamp. The single side driving inverter is configured to control an operating current of the lamp to be within 80% to 100% of a saturation luminance current. The lamp has a characteristic such that when the operating current is lower than the saturation luminance current, the lamp luminance increases as the operating current increases, and when the operating current is substantially equal to or higher than the saturation luminance current, the lamp luminance does not increase as the operating current increases.

  • Patent number: 6621778
Abstract: This specification discloses an automatic calibration method for the output power of a pickup head for an optical information recording apparatus, which avoids laser diode thermal effects using duty cycle control and obtains the correct conversion function between the output current of a front monitor diode and the output power of the pickup head by curve fitting. This method only needs to measure one set of front monitor diode output current and output power conversion function of the pickup head. The same conversion function is applicable to all pickup heads of the same type. The optical information recording apparatus automatically detects the corresponding parameter for the pickup head. Each optical information recording apparatus can also automatically detect the specific power control parameters for each set of power control channel to obtain the optimal recording characteristics.

  • Patent number: 5506999
Abstract: A blackboard parallel processing system for carrying out a general processing task using a plurality of parallel processors. In one application of the blackboard processing system, a workstation (102), which is part of an an automated workstation manufacturing system (AWMS), includes a blackboard control unit (BCU) (106) on which four separate functions are implemented in separate identical modules. The BCU includes a database module (34) having access to a global database, which is available to each of the plurality of parallel processors, referred to as knowledge source processors (KSPs) (40). A trigger module (46) includes trigger patterns that are compared to the data developed from messages transmitted by the KSPs to initiate specific tasks according to a predefined sequence. A scheduler module (42) responds to the trigger signals, by transmitting a signal to initiate each task, either by a specified KSP or by the KSP that is the least loaded with previously assigned processing task.
