  • Publication number: 20020061005
Abstract: Disclosed a transmission apparatus in a CDMA mobile communication system. Transmission frames each have a plurality of time slots, and each of the time slots includes two data parts having the same length, a midamble intervening between the data parts, and a guard period for dividing the consecutive time slots. The transmission apparatus modulates the frames into a radio signal with a modulation signal and transmits the modulated radio signal using a plurality of antennas. A power amplifier amplifies the radio signal. A controller generates a switching control signal in a guard period of time slots of a frame associated with the radio signal amplified by the power amplifier. A switch switches the amplified radio signal from the power amplifier between a first and a second antenna in response to the switching control signal.

  • Publication number: 20020018530
Abstract: A transmission antenna diversity method, and a base station apparatus and a mobile station apparatus therefor in a mobile communication system are provided. In the transmission antenna diversity method, channel information is measured from signals received through the plurality of antennas used in the base station, and a channel information matrix is output. The channel information matrix is transformed according to a transform matrix composed of a complex basis vector set. Reception power with respect to the plurality of antennas is calculated based on the transformed channel information matrix. Antenna selection information obtained based on the calculated reception power is transmitted to the base station as feedback information for controlling transmission antenna diversity. Therefore, power is equally distributed to transmitting antennas, excellent performance is maintained at a high speed of movement, and reliable channel adaptation is accomplished at a low speed of movement of the mobile station.

  • Publication number: 20020013130
Abstract: An optimum weight estimating apparatus and method of a mobile station for a mobile communication system in which a base station uses closed transmit diversity technology. Conventionally, all weight vectors stored in a lookup table should be applied to an optimum weight estimator to calculate receiving power, so that the amount of calculation considerably increases when there are many antennas. To overcome this problem, the weights of the lookup table are appropriately adjusted so that the variation of the differences between two adjacent vectors can be minimized. An optimum weight is obtained using the difference vector between weight vectors, thereby simplifying the calculation of receiving power. Therefore, the power loss of the mobile station can be minimized.

  • Patent number: 5759748
Abstract: A method for forming photoresist patterns, comprising the steps of: coating a chemically enhanced photoresist film on a lower layer; forming a silicon monomer layer on the chemically enhanced photoresist film; exposing the monomer layer through a mask, to selectively polymerize the silicon monomer; removing the unexposed regions of the monomer layer by development; and subjecting the remaining polymerized regions to oxygen plasma developing process to form oxide films through reaction of oxygen with the silicon contained in the polymerized regions and to form photoresist patterns through selective etching of the photoresist film, with the oxide films serving as a mask. Exposure of the silicon monomer generates protons from the chemically enhanced photoresist film which trigger the polymerization of the silicon monomer. The polymer thus formed is not removed by typical developing solutions and serves as a mask when etching the photoresist film with oxygen plasma because a thin silicon oxide (SiO.sub.
