    Abstract: The invention relates to a lighting structure and a scanning device. The lighting structure comprises a light source and a light guide. The light source comprises a plurality of light emitters spaced within a first plane along a first direction. The light guide comprises a plurality of light guiding bodies arranged in parallel. The light guiding bodies form a one-to-one correspondence with the light emitters and have a light entering surface and a light leaving surface which are both a curved surface. The curve of the intersection between each light leaving surface and a first cross-section has a first curvature radius, and the curve of the intersection between each light entering surface and a second cross-section has a second curvature radius, wherein the first cross-section is perpendicular to the second cross-section, and the first cross-section and the second cross-section are both perpendicular to the first plane.

    Abstract: A sheetfed film scanning correction method includes: using a film holding member as a film feeding carrier, wherein after the film holding member is inserted into a work position in a scanner, a scanning module of the scanner collects a first correction information under a filmless scanning state and corrects a subsequent scan result according to the first correction information; and setting sheet-feeding rollers of the scanner in idle running as if under a real film scanning state during or prior to collection of the first correction information. By film scanning simulation, the backlight distribution information under the filmless state is real-time collected and used as a correction information, hence implementing the collection of most accurate scan correction information as if under a real scanning environment, particularly applicable to the portable sheetfed film scanner, and eliminating impacts on the correction information caused by temperature change or physical vibration.

    Abstract: A scanning device and a scanning method thereof are provided. The scanning device includes a scanning group, a paper-feed roller and a calibration portion. The scanning group includes a line light source generating module and a scanning module. The line light source generating module includes a point light source, a light-guiding plate and a casing. The light emitted by the point light source along a first direction is converted into a line light source through a light-guiding plate disposed in the casing. The light emitted by the line light source along a second direction is emitted from an opening of the casing. The scanning module, along the first direction, includes a scan document region and a calibration region. The light reflected through the to-be-scanned document is received in the scan document region. The calibration portion disposed on the casing or the paper-feed roller corresponds to the calibration region.

    Abstract: A novel approach for determining signal to noise ratios based on equalizer outputs and managing power for a plurality of communications channels based on communications channel performance is disclosed. According to one aspect of the invention, a noise power is generated based on an error output of an equalizer that receives input from a communications channel, and a signal power is generated based on a signal output of the equalizer. A signal to noise ratio is determined based on the noise power and the signal power. According to another aspect of the invention, a first power and a second power that is different than the first power are determined based on performance data for the plurality of communications channels. The first power is used for communications that use a first communications channel, and the second power is used for communications that use a second communications channel.

    Abstract: A scan system and a scanning method are provided, The scan system is for scanning a transparent document. The scan system includes a backlight module, an optical module and a control unit. The backlight module has several light sources. The transparent document is disposed between the backlight module and the optical module. The optical module is capable of moving with respect to the transparent document and the backlight module for capturing the image of the transparent document. The control unit controls the backlight module to turn on at least parts of the light sources. When the optical module moves with respect to the transparent document to several positions at different time points, parts of the light sources corresponding to the positions are sequentially turned on. The light emitted by the light sources is projected into the optical module after passing through the transparent document.
