  • Publication number: 20040225425
Abstract: An on-vehicle device 11, 21, 31, which is connected to an external image taking device 211 via the Internet so as to allow communication therebetween, includes a communication section 12, 112, a reception notification section 413, 115, 315, a display section 115, 315, a vehicle's stopped state detection section 116, 117, 118, and a display control section 111. When the communication section receives an emergency (or call) detection notification from the image taking device, the display control section checks the vehicle's stopped state detection section to determine whether or not a vehicle is stopped. If the vehicle is stopped, the display control section receives video data from the image taking device via the communication section for causing the display section to display a video image of the video data. Otherwise, the display control section notifies a user of an emergency (or call) detection notification via the reception notification section.

  • Publication number: 20040210532
Abstract: To provide an access control apparatus which customizes a database of URIs, to which access restriction is applied, in accordance with an intended purpose of a user. A control section 201 obtains hypertext data from a Website corresponding to a URI received from a terminal. If access to a Website linked to the obtained hypertext data is restricted, the control section 201 obtains hypertext data and image data from the link destination Website. An unoffending image generating section 202 converts the image data for generating unoffending image data. The control section 201 rewrites a description of the hypertext data so that a link is established with restriction hypertext data, and transmits the rewritten data to the terminal. If the terminal requests a link with the restriction hypertext data, the control section 201 transmits the restriction hypertext data and the unoffending image data to the terminal.

  • Patent number: 5761401
Abstract: An apparatus for parallel image generation has four geometric data buffers for storing four partial geometric data, respectively, and four image generators connected respectively to the four geometric data buffers. Each image generator generates a partial image data for every pixel in a frame. Further provided are four image mergers connected respectively to the four image generators. The four image mergers are also connected in series. An initial image generator for generating a background image is connected to the first image merger for merging the background image data and the partial image data from the first image generator. Each of the second to fourth image merger merges an output merged data from the previous image merger and the partial image data from the corresponding image generator.

  • Patent number: 5570433
Abstract: The present invention discloses an image defocusing apparatus for defocusing an image formed on a screen by modeling an object in a boundary box by updating pixel values on the image to approximate a lens's focusing effects and a method thereof. The apparatus comprises a unit for computing data related to a circle of confusion for each point in the boundary box, the circle of confusion being a measure how defocused an out-of-focus point is on the screen, a unit for checking a reference pixel whose corresponding point's circle of confusion overlaps a pixel selected as a target pixel, and a unit for updating an original value of the target pixel by taking into account a value of the reference pixel and the data of the target pixel's circle of confusion.

  • Patent number: 5566284
Abstract: According to the MIP-map image generating apparatus of the invention, an original texture image stored in a memory is processed by spatial transformation in a discrete cosine transform section, so as to be spatial frequency image data. A polygon calculating section calculates the size of a polygon, and calculates resolution ratios of the texture to be mapped. A spatial low-pass filter allows the components of lower frequencies of the spatial frequency image data to pass therethrough using a cutoff frequency corresponding to the resolution ratios of the texture. After the filtered spatial frequency image data is processed by inverse spatial transformation, the size thereof is reduced. Thus, a MIP-map image having a predetermined size is obtained.

  • Patent number: 5517437
Abstract: The alpha blending calculator of the invention executes an alpha blending calculation in accordance with digital data X, Y, and .alpha.. The alpha blending calculator includes multiplexers which select one of X or Y in accordance with bits of the digital data .alpha., respectively, and a calculating section for shifting outputs of the multiplexers by a predetermined number of bits, respectively, and for calculating a sum of the shifted outputs. The calculating section includes first level to Nth level adding portions, and an adder connected to the outputs of the Nth level adding portion for executing a multi-bit addition. Each of the first level to the Nth level adding portions receives a plurality of stages of data, classifies the plurality of stages of data into quotient groups and a remainder group, calculates a sum and a carry for each of the quotient groups, and outputs the sum, the carry, and the stages of data in the remainder group to the next level adding portion.
