  • Patent number: 12109170
Abstract: Spa systems may be used all year round and in colder weather provide an enjoyable experience for users through the cold ambient outdoor temperature and the heated water of the spa. However, failures in respect of the water circulating pump and/or heater of the spa system either mechanically, electrically or through overall power outages mean the water in the spa system and its pipework can easily freeze if ambient conditions are cold enough leading to cracks in the spa system or pipes and hence leaks when the water thaws requiring costly repair or replacement of components or entire systems. Accordingly, a freeze protection system is provided that uses a backup thermal management system discretely or in combination with other backup systems. These freeze protection systems offering backup when mechanical failures, electrical failures etc. arise by providing thermal input to the spa system through alternate thermal paths and providing alarms.

  • Publication number: 20240331038
Abstract: A system measures, by executing a monitoring process, first metric data associated with trade data at a first time point after the trade data is output by a first process of an application and before the trade data is input to a second process of the application, identifies the trade data at a second time point after the trade data is output by the second process and before the trade data is output by the application, measures second metric data associated with the trade data identified at the second time point, and sends, in response to a latency value obtained based on the first metric data or the second metric data exceeding a latency threshold, a latency alert to a user computing device associated with the application. The monitoring process is not a process of the application and is not linked with the first process or the second process.

  • Patent number: 12106784
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to a read sensor utilized in a read head. The read sensor comprises an amorphous break layer disposed on a shield, a seed layer disposed on the amorphous break layer, a first ferromagnetic layer disposed on the seed layer, a barrier layer disposed on the first ferromagnetic layer, and a second ferromagnetic layer disposed on the barrier layer. The amorphous break layer comprises CoFeBTa, the seed layer comprises RuAl, and the barrier layer comprises a semiconductor material, such as ZnSe, ZnTe, ZnO, CuSe, or CuInGaSe. The semiconductor barrier layer reduces the resistance-area product of the read sensor. The amorphous break layer breaks the texture between the shield, which has a FCC texture, and the seed layer, which has a BCC texture. The BCC texture of the seed layer is then inherited by the remaining layers disposed over the seed layer.

  • Patent number: 12106791
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to spin-orbit torque (SOT) devices comprising a bismuth antimony (BiSb) layer. The SOT devices further comprise one or more GeXNiFe layers, where at least one GeXNiFe layer is disposed in contact with the BiSb layer. The GeXNiFe layer has a thickness less than or equal to about 15 ? when used as an interlayer on top of the BiSb layer or less than or equal to 40 ? when used as a buffer layer underneath the BiSb. When the BiSb layer is doped with a dopant comprising a gas, a metal, a non-metal, or a ceramic material, the GeXNiFe layer promotes the BiSb layer to have a (012) orientation. When the BiSb layer is undoped, the GeXNiFe layer promotes the BiSb layer to have a (001) orientation. Utilizing the GeXNiFe layer allows the crystal orientation of the BiSb layer to be selected.

  • Publication number: 20240310459
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to temperature detection devices including a ferromagnetic (FM) material disposed at a media facing surface (MFS). The FM material is configured to produce a first electric voltage signal in response to a temperature gradient due to an anomalous Nernst effect. The temperature detection device may also include a spin-orbit torque (SOT) material abutting the FM material. The SOT material includes at least one of BiSb, a topological insulator, a topological half-Heusler alloy, or a weakly oxidized heavy metal. The SOT material is recessed from the MFS, wherein the SOT material is configured to receive a spin current parallel to the temperature gradient generated by a spin Seebeck effect in the FM material. The spin current is detectable as a second electric voltage signal via an inverse spin Hall effect. The first electric voltage signal is added to the second electric voltage signal.
