    Abstract: A scheme for realizing a contents protection procedure between devices that are not connected to the same network, in a system where the IEEE 1394 buses are connected together through a 1394 bridge or a system where the IEEE 1394 buses are connected together through another radio network, is disclosed. A network connection device notifies information regarding a transmission node on the first IEEE 1394 bus to a reception node on the second IEEE 1394 bus, so that the reception node can carry out the authentication and key exchange procedure directly with the transmission node on a different network.

    Abstract: Communication packets having a same channel identifier are exchanged between a pair of Bluetooth devices within a Bluetooth network. The packets are passed to a lower level layer through a connection handle in which their requested quality of service is indicated. In the lower level layer, the communication packets are distributed to buffers, each of which corresponds to each type of quality of service set in the connection handle. Alternatively, a service identifier corresponding to the quality of service is given to the communication packets in the lower level layer, and the packets are distributed to a suitable buffer based on the service identifier.

In a case of transmitting information data from a data transmitting node connected with a physical network to a receiving node connected with the physical network or another physical network, a data transmitting node transmits the control message including an IP address information of a data transmission destination, a header/channel information dependent on the physical network, and an information indicating that the information data to be transmitted according to the header/channel information is data in an upper layer of an IP layer. The information data is then transmitted to the receiving node, where the information data contains the header/channel information and data of the upper layer without IP packet encapsulation. A network inter-connection node operates similarly.
