  • Publication number: 20020131388
Abstract: Communication packets having a same channel identifier, which are exchanged between a pair of Bluetooth devices within a Bluetooth network are passed to a lower level layer through a connection handle in which their requested quality of service. In the lower level layer, the communication packets are distributed to buffers, each of which corresponds to each type of quality of service set in the connection handle. Alternatively. a service identifier corresponding to the quality of service is given to the communication packets in the lower level layer, and the packets are distributed to a suitable buffer based on the service identifier.

  • Publication number: 20020061748
Abstract: In the disclosed registration and authentication scheme, in the case of carrying out the registration and authentication of a wireless terminal with respect to a wireless base station provided inside the home, for example, a user of the wireless terminal must directly operate the wireless base station. For this reason, it is possible to prevent the registration and authentication of a wireless terminal of an external user who cannot easily operate the wireless base station, and thereby it is possible to realize the secure and easy registration and authentication processing even when the wireless communications are used.

  • Patent number: 6341127
Abstract: A router device for controlling label switching path set up is disclosed. In the router device, a,policy information indicating a permitted starting point of a label switching path is stored, and a request message that contains a starting point information indicating a starting point node/network of the requested label switching path and a stream information indicating a desired packet stream to be transferred through the requested label switching path is received. Then, whether or not to permit the set up of the requested label switching path is judged by comparing the starting point information contained in the request message with the stored policy information, and the requested label switching path through the router device for the desired packet stream indicated by the stream information contained in the request message is set up when the set up of the requested label switching path is judged as permitted.

  • Patent number: 6301674
Abstract: In supplying power to a plurality of electric apparatuses connected to a power line having a predetermined maximum consumable power, a power consumption of the power line is measured as a first power consumption. When a second power consumption predetermined in each of the electric apparatuses is told, a sum of the second power consumption and the first power consumption of the power line is compared with the predetermined maximum consumable power of the power line, and it is determined whether the second power consumption by the electric apparatus is permissible. A result of the determination is told to the electric apparatuses.

  • Publication number: 20010014870
Abstract: An electronic coupon sending/collecting scheme that can be realized without utilizing communication providers is disclosed. In this scheme, an electronic coupon is sent from one radio base station provided in the facility to the radio portable terminal by using the radio LAN, either automatically or in response to a request for acquiring coupon made by the user. Then, the electronic coupon is collected from the radio portable terminal at that one radio base station or another radio base station provided in the facility by using the radio LAN, and a service corresponding to the electronic coupon is provided to the user of the radio portable terminal.

  • Publication number: 20010006512
Abstract: A scheme for realizing AV data transfer processing utilizing the transport layer protocol such as RTP protocol, between radio terminals in a radio system for carrying out data transfer after establishing a logical connection between radio terminals prior to data transfer between radio terminals such as Bluetooth is disclosed. In the case of transferring data packets containing an AV stream and exchanging control packets containing control information regarding transfer of the data packets, different logical channels are assigned to the data packets and the control packet so that the data packets and the control packet are transferred by these different logical channels.

  • Publication number: 20010006518
Abstract: A radio terminal or gateway capable of executing the AV/C protocol on the datalink protocol which starts communications after setting up a logical channel on a radio network is disclosed. The radio terminal or gateway transfers data packets according to the stored correspondence information among the protocol identifier, the channel identifier that is set up for the radio terminal or gateway, and the channel identifier that is set up for a correspondent radio terminal or gateway, where the correspondence information is obtained through an exchange of signaling packets containing the channel identifier indicating a logical channel that is set up for transferring the data packets and the protocol identifier indicating the AV control protocol.
