  • Patent number: 5286892
Abstract: The present novel organosilicon compound is a 2-trimethoxysilylpropionate represented by the following formula ##STR1## wherein R represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 6 to 12 carbon atoms. This ester reacts efficiently with alcohols and silanols and is useful, for example, as a terminal alkoxysilylating agent for organopolysiloxanes such as industrially useful .alpha.,.omega.-dihydroxypolydimethylsiloxane, or as a surface treatment for silicas, or as a storage stabilizer that serves as a scavenger of an alcohol for alcohol elimination type RTV. Further, since the present organosilicon compound is a three-functional alkoxysilane having three methoxy groups in the molecule, it is useful as a curing agent for alcohol elimination type RTV.

  • Patent number: 5244938
Abstract: The present invention is characterized by adding and mixing an organosilicon compound having alkoxy, groups and an ester linkage in the molecule represented by the following formula: ##STR1## in an amount of 1 to 20 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of a trifluoropropylalkylpolysiloxane. Said organosilicon compound has a function as a storage stabilizer as well as a curing agent and, according to the present invention, an RTV fluorosilicone composition that has hitherto been difficult to be applied as an adhesive for electric and electronic parts has been made possible to be used in the particular field.

  • Patent number: 5196477
Abstract: Silicone compositions comprising an organopolysiloxane composition and an organic compound capable of coordination with metals are described. Since the organic compound is preferentially adsorbed on a metal surface, the composition is particularly suitable for use in electric or electronic parts to prevent contact failure. A more specific embodiment comprises a diorganopolysiloxane of the average unit formula, R.sub.a SiO.sub.(4-a)/2, wherein each R independently represents an unsubstituted or substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group, and a is a value of from 1.90 to 2.05, a filler, an alkoxysilane or its hydrolyzate, a silylation catalyst made of an organic silicon compound having at least one specific type of group, an organic tin compound, another organosilicon compound capable of reaction with an alcohol in order to stabilize the composition, and an organic compound capable of coordination with metals.

  • Patent number: 5192364
Abstract: A primer composition comprises (A) an organosilicon compound having different alkoxy groups in its molecule, (B) a tetraalkoxytitanium, (C) an acid and water, and (D) an organic solvent. The composition shows excellent adhesion properties to fluororesin coating materials, acrylic resin coating materials, etc. When applied to the surface of a metal coated with such a coating material, the primer composition is capable of providing a remarkably enhanced adhesion, for example, between a silicone elastomer and the coated metal.

  • Patent number: 5180771
Abstract: A room temperature curable organopolysiloxane composition comprising a diorganopolysiloxane having a hydroxyl group or alkoxy groups, a filler, a particular alkoxysilane, an organosilicon compound having a particular guanidinyl group, and an organic tin compound, and further comprising an organosilicon compound having at least one group represented by the general formula: ##STR1## where R.sup.4 is a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon group, or a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 are each a hydrogen atom, methyl or ethyl group, and n is an integer of 0, 1 or 2. By virtue of the last component, the composition exhibits markedly good storage stability.

  • Patent number: 5096496
Abstract: A primer composition is proposed which is capable of greatly improving the adhesive bonding between a substrate surface, in particular, coated with a paint containing a fluorocarbon resin, urethane resin or acrylic resin as the vehicle, and a room temperature-curable silicon rubber composition, in particular, of the type curable by the condensation reaction. The primer composition is a homogeneous solution obtained by dissolving, in an organic solvent, a guanidino group-containing organosilicon compound, such as 3-(tetramethylguanidino)propyl trimethoxy silane, and a so-called silane coupling agent, such as 3-mercaptopropyl trimethoxy silane, in a specified proportion.
