  • Publication number: 20090123037
Abstract: According to the present invention, the face of a subject person can be rapidly detected. An image input unit inputs an image to be processed. A photographing-position input unit inputs photographing-position information attached to the processed image. An angle-range information determination unit determines an angle range, where face detection should be performed to the processed image, on the basis of the information obtained by the photographing-position information input unit. On the basis of information indicating the determined angle range, under the control of a process control unit, a face detection unit performs face detection to the processed image input by the image input unit in predetermined angle increments. A face integration unit integrates all of face data detected by a basic-angle-range face detection unit into face information and then outputs the information.

  • Patent number: 7415137
Abstract: A method of processing an image includes steps of identifying one candidate for a human face region within an image; calculating a probability that the candidate for human face region represents a human face; and saving the probability as attached information to the image. The method of processing an image can also include steps of identifying one candidate for human face region within an image; calculating a probability that the candidate for human face region represents a human face; judging whether or not the candidate for human face region represents a human face by comparing the probability with a threshold; and saving a result of the step of judging as attached information to the image. According to these methods, results of identifying candidates for human face regions will be saved to the image, and further processes to be conducted on the image can be facilitated.

  • Publication number: 20080137961
Abstract: An image processing apparatus can generate a vector sequence representing each color region of a color image. The image processing apparatus divides the image into plural regions based on attribute information of the image, and extracts region boundary information relating to a boundary line between different regions. The image processing apparatus generates inter-edge point vector data for each boundary connecting a first edge point to a second edge point corresponding to intersections of boundaries between neighboring regions, based on the extracted region boundary information. The image processing apparatus identifies one or more inter-edge point vector data representing a boundary of each divided region based on the generated inter-edge point vector data, and generates individual region vector data.

  • Publication number: 20080081104
Abstract: An oxide film is formed on a target substrate by CVD, in a process field to be selectively supplied with a first process gas including a silicon source gas and a second process gas including an oxidizing gas. The oxide film is formed by performing cycles each alternately including first and second steps. The first step performs supply of the first process gas, thereby forming an adsorption layer containing silicon on a surface of the target substrate. The second performs supply of the second process gas, thereby oxidizing the adsorption layer on the surface of the target substrate. The silicon source gas is a univalent or bivalent aminosilane gas, and each of the cycles is arranged to use a process temperature lower than that used for a trivalent aminosilane gas.

  • Publication number: 20070230809
Abstract: In an image processing method, contour information is extracted on the basis of terminal points and intersections included in a thinned line drawing, the contour information being extracted for each of closed curves and line elements connecting the terminal points and the intersections included in the line drawing, and skeletonized vector data is generated on the basis of the contour information. Start and end terminal points in the skeletonized vector data are determined. Artificial vectors to be inserted between the determined start and end terminal points are generated, and artificial-vector-inserted vector data including the generated artificial vectors is generated. A smoothing process is performed for the artificial-vector-inserted vector data, and then smoothed, non-circumference vector data is generated on the basis of the start and end terminal points. The thinned line drawing is raster-scanned in units of a pixel matrix.

  • Patent number: 7166013
Abstract: The present invention relates to a polishing apparatus, and a semiconductor manufacturing method using the apparatus. Dressing of a grindstone surface is ground by sizing processing whereby dressing of a tool surface can be done while preventing occurrence of cracks on the grindstone surface which is the cause for occurrence of scratches. Further, flatness of the surface of a dressing tool can be guaranteed because of sizing cutting-in; even if a thick grindstone of a few centimeters is used, the flatness can be maintained to the end; and processing with less in-face unevenness can be always carried out. Therefore, the life of the dressing tool can be greatly extended. Further, the present sizing-dressing is carried out jointly with processing of a wafer to thereby enable improvement of throughput of the apparatus as well as maintenance of a processing rate. The present apparatus and method are effective for planarization of various substrate surfaces having irregularities.

  • Patent number: 7142689
Abstract: An image processing method is provided. This method comprises: a first information extraction step of extracting first information, including a registration signal used to correct the geometrical distortion of an image; a determination step of employing results obtained at the first information extraction step to determine whether second information is to be extracted from the image; a division step of dividing the image into at least one block; and a selection step of selecting the block. In this method, the first information and the second information are embedded in the image as invisible or less visible electronic watermarks, and are added to components of said image that are less easily discerned by a human's eyes. Further, the amount of said first information is smaller than the amount of said second information, and the first information is embedded more deeply in the image than is the second information.

  • Patent number: 7035426
Abstract: The present invention relates to image processing in which an image resolution of input image data is compared to information of predetermined standard resolution, and the image data is judged to determine whether it includes specific information related to copy protection. Whether or not to perform judging is controlled based on the result of the comparison. Because the control technique of the present invention controls whether or not to perform the judgment based on the result of the c comparison, the control technique according to the invention provides an efficient judging processing, since no judgment is performed on low resolution image data which is not prone to counterfeiting.
