  • Publication number: 20140063576
Abstract: An image processing apparatus of the present invention acquires a photographed image of an object on which indicators have been arranged, detects the indicators from the photographed image with use of a comparison reference image for pattern matching prepared in advance, and instructs to perform predetermined processing based on the detected indicators. The indicators each have a pattern where influence of geometrical image distortion generated corresponding to a photographing distance or a photographing angle with respect to the object is restrained by a central portion of the photographed image, and the comparison reference image is a partial image corresponding to a central portion of the indicator. The indicators are detected from the photographed image by comparing the comparison reference image with the acquired photographed image.

  • Patent number: 8558956
Abstract: An image display system comprises red, green and blue laser light sources, a spatial light modulator that modulates the laser light of different colors in a time sharing manner and a controller that controls the operation of the laser light sources and the spatial light modulator. The green and red laser light sources are lit in this order in each frame. The green color is diminished due to the response delay of the spatial light modulator, but the green laser light produced by the green laser light source has a relatively large color phase shift from the standard green color so that the shortage of green color cancels the color phase shift of the generated green color so that the color phase shift of the displayed intermediate color can be minimized.

Abstract: The importance detection unit 52 detects importance of each pixel composing the original image thus acquired. In addition, the importance map generation unit 52 generates an importance map indicating distribution of the importance detected for each pixel. The characteristic region detection unit 61 detects a characteristic region of the original image, from the original image thus acquired. The determination unit 62 determines a brushstroke pattern that should be applied to the characteristic region thus detected, from at least two types of brushstroke patterns stored in a storage unit. The brushstroke pattern conversion unit 63 converts an image in the characteristic region into an image, to which the brushstroke pattern is applied, based on the brushstroke pattern thus determined. • Publication number: 20120327379
Abstract: An image display apparatus including a laser light source apparatus with a semiconductor laser as a light source increases the heat releasing ability of the laser light source apparatus in the image display apparatus. In order to accomplish this, a heat sink is provided to a green color laser light source apparatus, which generates green color light by wavelength conversion from infrared light and, therefore, produces a greater amount of heat than the other laser light source apparatuses. In addition, an air flow blocking cover is mounted on the surface of the holder, covering the temperature sensor, to prevent distribution to the temperature sensor of cooling air from the cooling fan disposed adjacent to the red color laser light source apparatus. It is thus possible to comply with laser safety standards.

  • Patent number: 8189056
Abstract: In a digital camera 1, a storing means stores feature quantities of a subject area in an image, and a search point setting means sets a plurality of search points in the subject area. Next, an updating means updates coordinates of the set plurality of search points using random numbers. Then, a weight setting means compares feature quantities of the updated search points with the stored feature quantities, and sets a weight for each search point based on similarity. Next, a sorting means sorts the search points depend on those weight, and a variance acquiring means calculates the variance of the sorted search points. Then, an angle-of-view adjusting means determines the amount of adjustment for the angle-of-view based on the calculated variance.

  • Patent number: 8023743
Abstract: When a user instructs photographing by operating an operating unit, an image captured by an image sensor is stored as a photographed image in a memory. When a mode for performing color fading correction is set, the CPU instructs an image processing device to extract, from the photographed image, areas in which there are photographic print images which are supposed to bring about color fading. The image processing device generates a binary image by detecting edges of the photographed image, erases edges contacting an outermost edge of the photographed image, and extracts the areas based on the binary image from which some of the edges are erased.
