  • Publication number: 20110101616
Abstract: The present invention provides a mechanical seal sliding member with high lubricating characteristics, in which the coefficient of friction and the temperature of sliding surfaces are lowered and stabilized without excessive leakage. In the mechanical seal sliding member of the present invention, on the sliding surface 2, a plurality of grating sections 5 are formed separately in each of which a plurality of linear shape ridge portions parallel to each other are formed in a predetermined region with a predetermined pitch. The linear shape ridge portions of the plurality of grating sections are formed as inclined at a predetermined angle to a sliding direction of the sliding surfaces 2. Such periodic structure can improve the lubricating characteristics for lubrication.

  • Publication number: 20100214444
Abstract: In a digital camera 1, a storing means stores feature quantities of a subject area in an image, and a search point setting means sets a plurality of search points in the subject area. Next, an updating means updates coordinates of the set plurality of search points using random numbers. Then, a weight setting means compares feature quantities of the updated search points with the stored feature quantities, and sets a weight for each search point based on similarity. Next, a sorting means sorts the search points depend on those weight, and a variance acquiring means calculates the variance of the sorted search points. Then, an angle-of-view adjusting means determines the amount of adjustment for the angle-of-view based on the calculated variance.

  • Patent number: 7607783
Abstract: A document camera has an image processing apparatus, which acquires the contour of an image of an original by means of a Roberts filter. The image processing apparatus detects straight lines as candidates for forming an image of the original from the acquired contour and acquires the shape of a quadrangle of the original. The image processing apparatus determines the projection parameters showing the relationship between the shape of the image of the original and the shape of the actual original from the positions of the corners of the quadrangle and executes an operation of projection/transformation on the image of the original. The document camera outputs the image data of the image to a projector, which projects an image of the original on a screen according to the image data.

  • Patent number: 7542074
Abstract: A computer obtains a change amount of an image of a manuscript. If the change amount of the image of the manuscript is equal to or larger than a predetermined threshold, the computer determines that the image has movement, such as in a case where the manuscript is replaced, and switches the resolution of the image, which is possible to shorten the processing time, to low resolution. In a case where the manuscript is placed on a base, if the change amount of the image of the manuscript is less than the predetermined threshold, and the computer determines that the image does not have movement, the computer switches the resolution of the image to high resolution.

  • Publication number: 20070177818
Abstract: An image-capturing apparatus includes an image-acquiring unit which acquires an image that is captured by photographing a photographic subject which is laid on an arbitrary place, a difference image producing unit which produces a difference image between the captured image that is acquired by the image-acquiring unit and an image which is captured before the photographic subject is laid, a contour extraction unit which extracts contour information of the photographic subject from the difference image that is produced by the difference image producing unit, and an image conversion unit which corrects a distortion of the captured image on the basis of the contour information that is extracted by the contour extraction unit.

  • Publication number: 20070052818
Abstract: When a user instructs photographing by operating an operating unit, an image captured by an image sensor is stored as a photographed image in a memory. When a mode for performing color fading correction is set, the CPU instructs an image processing device to extract, from the photographed image, areas in which there are photographic print images which are supposed to bring about color fading. The image processing device generates a binary image by detecting edges of the photographed image, erases edges contacting an outermost edge of the photographed image, and extracts the areas based on the binary image from which some of the edges are erased.

  • Patent number: 6892255
Abstract: A method of installing a program or renewing a file. A first program or file stored on a first memory area is copied to a second memory area. Position-information memory area is updated with position information indicating a location on the second memory area where the first program or file is copied or stored. Then, a second program or file is written into the first memory area, and the position-information memory area is updated again with position information indicating a location on the first memory area where the second program or file is written. With use of the above method, even though an unexpected error should occur during the course of installing the second program or file, the original program or file can be immediately recovered. An easy to use method of installing a program or renewing a file is provided, which reduces burden of time consuming operation by a user.

  • Publication number: 20030011652
Abstract: The image forming apparatus includes a toner holding element 10 and a toner passage controller 4 having a plurality of toner passage holes 14, for controlling passage of toner 3. In order to prevent shortage of toner supply from the toner holding element 10 and form a high-quality image at a sufficient image density without producing thin white lines in such an image forming apparatus, the traveling speed of the toner holding element 10 is preset based on the traveling speed of an image receiving means 7 and at least one of the weight per unit area or the length in the scanning direction of the toner 3 that is applied to an image receiving means 7, the weight per unit area of the toner 3 held on the toner holding element 10 or the length of a toner-less region in the main scanning direction, and the number of pixels successively formed at different positions in the main scanning direction through the same toner passage hole 14.
