  • Publication number: 20070201143
Abstract: A magnification varying optical system that directs light from an object to an image sensor includes in order from the object side: a first lens unit having negative optical power and including an optical axis changing element that changes the optical axis; a second lens unit having positive optical power and including three lens elements; a third lens unit having negative optical power; and a fourth lens unit having positive optical power. In this magnification varying optical system, in magnification varying from the wide-angle end to the telephoto end, the first lens unit is stationary, the distance from the first lens unit to the second lens unit decreases, and the distance from the third lens unit to the fourth lens unit increases. The magnification varying optical system satisfies the specified conditions.

  • Publication number: 20070171543
Abstract: An imaging optical system which is a small-sized and wide angle of view a zoom lens, and whose aberration is finely corrected, is provided. In the imaging optical system, it has the first lens group of negative power, the second lens group of positive power, the third lens group of negative power, the fourth lens group of the positive and the following lens group, and the first lens group is fixed with respect to the image plane during zooming and focusing, and during zooming at least the lens group constituting the following lens group is moved within an adequate range, and the distance between the most image side surface of the following lens group and the image plane is set in an adequate range.

  • Patent number: 7193786
Abstract: A zoom optical system according to the present invention is provided with, in order from an object side thereof: a first lens group having a negative refractive power; a second lens group having a positive refractive power; a third lens group having a negative refractive power; and a fourth lens group having a positive refractive power. The zoom optical system moves at least the second lens group and the third lens group for zooming operation from a wide-angle end to a telephoto end. The zoom optical system moves the third lens group for a focusing operation. The first lens group is provided with, in order from the object side of the zoom optical system, a meniscus lens having a negative refractive power whose concave surface faces an image side of the zoom optical system, a reflective optical element, and at least one lens.

  • Publication number: 20060280498
Abstract: An image-taking lens unit has an image-taking lens system that forms an optical image of an object and an image sensor that receives the optical image in a rectangular image-sensing region and converts the optical image into an electrical signal. The image-taking lens system includes a reflective optical element that bends the optical path. Of the lens elements constituting the image-taking lens system, the most image-side lens element called the last lens element is molded of resin, and is given a non-circular outer shape fulfilling a prescribed condition.

  • Patent number: 7113346
Abstract: A variable magnification optical system for forming an optical image of an object on the light-receiving surface of an image sensor with variable magnification includes: from an object side, a first lens unit having a positive optical power, a second lens unit having a negative optical power, a third lens unit having a positive optical power, a fourth lens unit having a positive optical power, and a fifth lens unit. In magnification variation from the wide-angle end to the telephoto end, the first lens unit, the third lens unit, and the fifth lens unit are kept in fixed positions whereas the second lens unit and the fourth lens unit move. The third lens unit includes, from the object side, a positive lens element having a biconvex form, and a negative lens element having a form concave to an image side. The negative lens element has an aspherical surface.
