  • Publication number: 20100332926
Abstract: An apparatus according to the present invention is designed to perform formatting processing on an information storage medium. The storage medium has a data storage area including a user data area and a spare area. The user data area is provided to write user data on, while the spare area includes a replacement block to be used as a replacement for a block that has been detected as a defective block. The replacement block stores instruction information that instructs to read data from the defective block when data is read from the replacement block. The apparatus includes a control section for controlling the formatting processing. In performing the formatting processing, the control section updates information stored in the replacement block such that when data is read from the replacement block, the data is not read from the defective block.

  • Publication number: 20100154656
Abstract: A cover portion (96) for covering an opening of a tank body serving as a water tank is provided with a water receiving section (97) formed of a recess for temporary reception of supplied water, and the water receiving section (97) is provided with mesh-like filters (93a, 93b). Thus, scale or other impurities contained in discharge water derived from a pot of a steam generator and discharged from a drain valve are filtrated by the filters (93a, 93b), by which the discharge water from the pot is recycled as water for steam generation without using any special purification system. Therefore, the number of times of water supply to the water tank can be reduced without using any special purification system.

  • Patent number: 7730830
Abstract: Water draining means (a water drain pipe and a water drain valve (54)) is provided that drains water out of a pot. A control device (80) makes the water draining means drain the water inside the pot when one of the following conditions is fulfilled: [1] the retention time counted by a first time counter (101a) has reached a predetermined time; [2] the total time, as counted by a second time counter (101b), that has elapsed after the water started to be fed has reached a predetermined time; [3] the total amount of water, as detected by a fed water amount detector (102), that has been fed into the pot has reached a predetermined amount; [4] the total water feed time, as counted by a third time counter (101c), for which the water has been fed into the pot has reached a predetermined time; and [5] an instruction to drain the water is entered via an operation panel (13).

  • Publication number: 20100126356
Abstract: A water level sensor (91) is provided in an auxiliary tank (39) whose bottom portion communicates to a bottom portion of a pot (41) for generating steam and which is opened to the atmosphere. When water in the pot (41) keeps boiling and the stop time of a pump (35) reaches a predetermined time (e.g., 60 sec.), the pump (35) is driven for a predetermined time (e.g., 6 sec.) to supply water to the pot (41). This temporarily suppresses the boiling of water in the pot (41), lowering a steam pressure in a space formed by an external circulation passage (60), a heating chamber, and the pot (41). The water level in the auxiliary tank (39) then returns to a normal one, making it possible to correctly detect the water level in the pot (41).

  • Patent number: 7705274
Abstract: A cooker has an external circulation path outside a heating chamber in which foods are to be placed. A blower sucks in gas inside the heating chamber, and forms, in the external circulation path, a gas flow that makes the sucked gas return to the heating chamber. Downstream of the blower, the external circulation path is provided with an exhaust port, in which a damper is provided. The damper closes the exhaust port during cooking, and opens the exhaust port when a door of the heating chamber is opened. After the damper is changed to a position of opening the exhaust port, the blower continues to operate until a predetermined condition is satisfied.
