  • Patent number: 5510714
Abstract: In a bird cage resonator, the axial length of rungs is changed between orthogonal elements. By doing this, the real view fields of orthogonal ports A and B in the sagittal direction are changed and the sensitivity difference between both view fields is reduced. For an object with an elliptical section to be inspected such as the human body, a remarkable difference in detection sensitivity between each orthogonal ports is eliminated and the receiving sensitivity of MRI apparatus employing the QD method is improved.

  • Patent number: 5503953
Abstract: A lithographic plate includes a substrate made of a polyester film having a light transmittance of 50% or less, a bending angle in the range of 30.degree. to 90.degree., and a rupture strength after being bent of 8 kg/mm.sup.2 or more. Alternatively, a lithographic plate includes a substrate made of a polymer film containing a polyester and a thermoplastic resin incompatible with the polyester, wherein the polymer film is oriented along at least one axis and has minute cavities formed by the orientation, and the density of the film is in the range of 1.05 g/cm.sup.3 to 1.3 g/cm.sup.3.

  • Patent number: 5384536
Abstract: This application describes a nuclear magnetic resonance inspection apparatus. In this apparatus, a nuclear magnetic resonance signal detected by a detection coil is wirelessly transmitted to a signal processing system. In another embodiment, the nuclear magnetic resonance signal is stored in a memory medium provided to the detection coil. This memory medium can be separated from the detection coil. The signal processing system reads out the nuclear magnetic resonance signal from the memory medium separated, and processes the signal.

  • Patent number: 5124204
Abstract: Disclosed is a thin film EL panel having a high reliability. The thin film El panel is thin, light, and is made at a low cost. The present invention provides in a thin film electroluminescent (EL) panel comprising a light permeable base plate, a thin film EL element formed on the base plate and a moisture-proof sheet covered thereon, an improvement residing in that a moisture-absorption sheet is placed between said thin film EL element and said moisture-proof sheet, and said moisture-absorption sheet comprises an organic polymer sheet with silica gel powder dispersed therein at a certain surface density. The present invention also provides in a thin film electroluminescent (EL) panel comprising a light permeable base plate, a thin film EL element formed on the base plate and a moisture-proof sheet covered thereon, an improvement residing in that a moisture-absorption layer is formed on the inside surface of the moisture-proof sheet by coating powder thereon having moisture absorption properties.

  • Patent number: 5109198
Abstract: In a nuclear magnetic resonance imaging apparatus including a first probe circuit for detecting magnetic flux in a first direction and a second probe circuit for detecting magnetic flux in a direction perpendicular to the first direction, the arm angle of conductor arms to form the first probe circuit and the arm angle of conductor arms to form the second probe circuit are different from each other.

  • Patent number: 4999220
Abstract: In manufacturing perpendicular magnetic recording medium wherein a magnetic layer containing Co and Cr as main contents on a running substrate of polymer film incident angle (.phi..sub.f) of vaporized atom to form said magnetic layer is 30.degree. or larger at the final part of the film formation to improve manufacturing capacity, and magnetic layer (119) is heated after forming the magnetic layer in an oxygen-containing atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 4875013
Abstract: A high-frequency coil of the type of slot resonator in which outer conductors that have wing portions at both ends thereof and that are divided, are formed on the cylindrical surface, and ring-like inner conductors are formed on the inside of the wing portions. The wing portions have a width different from the width of the inner conductors. The self resonance frequency of the coil is adjusted by adjusting the width which is smaller than the other width. Further, the neighboring tips of the wing portions are opposed to each other via an air gap. The self resonance frequency is also adjusted depending upon the position of the dielectric plate inserted in the gap.

  • Patent number: 4825163
Abstract: A quadrature probe for nuclear magnetic resonance includes two sets of coils which are combined with an angle of 90.degree. therebetween. Four pieces of outer conductors and two pieces of ring-shaped inner conductors are capacitively coupled to each other through an insulator or an air gap. In the outer conductor(s) in at least one of a set of outer conductors disposed at positions symmetrical with respect to each other so as to form a first coil and a set of outer conductors disposed at positions symmetrical with respect to each other so as to form a second coil, a conductor member(s) for adjustment is attached in parallel to the arm portion(s) in that outer conductor(s) of that set. Alternatively, the arm portion(s) itself in that set is slidably attached to the wing portions in that set.
