  • Patent number: 5459477
Abstract: In a display control device according to this invention, video signals are given in parallel each of a plurality of extracting means via a common bus means. For this reason, each extracting means can selectively extract any of the video signals. Each extracting means extracts a portion of or all of required video signals in correspondence to a display area (an area on the display means defined by a display pattern) to be extracted from each of the video signals. The extracted video signals (concretely real luminance signals, interpolated luminance signals, and color signals) are interpolated in horizontal and vertical directions according to a magnification of the display pattern on the display means. This interpolation is an operation to supplement picture elements corresponding to a number of scanning lines and length of the scanning lines which become short when a specified area of the video signal, which is an original signal, is enlarged.

  • Patent number: 5287179
Abstract: An image display system is provided in which an image to be displayed is subdivided into a plurality of images. The plurality of images are displayed on a plurality of display devices. An image is converted to a high definition television signal, and then converted to a plurality of signals compatible with standard television systems. Since the image is subdivided electronically, mismatching between screens is avoided. Further, when the input image to be displayed has an aspect ratio larger or smaller than that of the high definition television system, the displayed image is appropriately shifted, thus eliminating hardware and reducing the system cost.

  • Patent number: 4867507
Abstract: A structure for fixing the terminal end of a trim cover assembly to an L-shaped frame in an automotive seat in which a plurality of spring members are extended across the frames. A hook member formed of synthetic resin having a shock-absorbing and sound-arresting property is provided at the terminal end of the trim cover assembly and is then interposed between the spring member and the tip end of the frame. As a result of this, even when the spring member is flexed due to loads applied thereto, the spring member is prevented from coming into direct contact with the frame tip end and thus there is eliminated the possibility that strange sounds may be generated due to the contact of the spring member with the tip end of the frame.

  • Patent number: 4800285
Abstract: A flame detecting apparatus and a flame detecting method which utilizes a flame detector having a directivity and provided with a photodetector such as a photodiode or a phototransistor which produces a photo-output in response to the intensity of light incident thereupon. The flame detector is scanned sequentially in the horizontal and the vertical direction within a supervisory region. When a photo-output from said flame detector obtained in the horizontal or vertical scanning by said scanning means exceeds a predetermined threshold value, one of the horizontal and the vertical scanning is suspended, while repeating the other, vertical or horizontal, scanning at the same horizontal or vertical position several times. Flame determination is made when the changes in the photo-outputs, which is obtained through the repeated scanning, exceed a predetermined value and they last over a predetermined scanning angle.

  • Patent number: 4755687
Abstract: A system and method for detecting a fire source in a supervised region by means of fire detectors which effectively scan all over such region. A plurality of reference fire sources of the same geometric shape of the minimum size to be regareded as a fire are assumed to be located in successive predetermined position on the floor of the supervised region. Vertical control means successively sets the vertical deflection angles of each detector along the respective straight lines from each detector which graze by the upper end of the respective fire sources and to the lower end of the succeeding fire source. The system also comprises horizontal control means for causing the detectors to horizontally scan the supervised region. Upon detection of a fire, the detectors provide fire detection signals to a central processor unit which then actuates a spray nozzle to direct fire extinguishing fluid on the fire.

  • Patent number: 4559644
Abstract: An apparatus and method for reading, processing, storing and later printing out stored data from an original document in which undesired data portions are prevented from being recorded. Portions of the printed original image which are desirably retained and recorded are printed with solid lines, while image portions, for instance, ledger lines, which are desirably not retained and recorded, are printed as optically fine discontinuous patterns. The original thus printed is scanned line by line. The analog signal which is produced by the scanning device has high frequency portions when an optically fine discontinuous pattern is scanned. These portions are eliminated by low-pass filtering or by determining the degree of correlation between the sensor output signal and stored data representing the optically fine discontinuous patterns.
