  • Patent number: 5337305
Abstract: An information storage system for recording and reproducing information by use of irradiating light on a medium capable of overwriting information is provided. The information storage system is capable of recording information even if the light intensity is varied so as to enhance reliability. The intensity of the light at the time of overwriting is modulated, the more intense light intensity being P.sub.H and the less intense light intensity being P.sub.L. The system includes a mechanism to keep relationship of P.sub.H +.alpha.P.sub.L equal to a constant (.alpha. being a constant depending on the recording conditions). The laser drive circuit is so adjusted that P.sub.H and P.sub.L always provide an optimal condition even if P.sub.H and/or P.sub.L vary. Thus recording can always be performed under optimal conditions to enhance the reliability of the information storage system to expand the power margin of a recording medium and to increase the percentage yield of information medium.

  • Patent number: 4238835
Abstract: An analyzing apparatus is controlled by a microcomputer which reads out programmed information from a magnetic card. The magnetic card does not always travel at a constant speed, and therefore, it is difficult for the microcomputer to entirely resort to the software for carrying out the signal processing required for the control of the analyzing apparatus. In order to obviate this difficulty, a hard logic circuit is provided to read out inverted bit information from the magnetic card, and the information thus read out is supplied to the microcomputer so that the microcomputer can reliably carry out the processing steps including bit counting and data reception. The hard logic circuit includes a flip-flop storing an FM signal recorded on the magnetic card and an exclusive-OR gate comparing the flip-flop output with the FM signal. A simple logic circuit is also provided for writing the FM signal on the magnetic card.

  • Patent number: 4137161
Abstract: A detecting device is disposed between a separation column to which an eluent is supplied and a flow passage resisting member is located in a flow passage leading to a liquid discharge exit. This detecting device includes a sample cell and a reference cell. The effluent from the separation column is introduced into the flow passage resisting member through the sample cell. A change-over valve is disposed in the flow passage between the separation column and the sample cell and also is connected to one end of the reference cell. The other end of the reference cell is connected to the flow passage between the sample cell and the flow passage resisting member, whereby the reference cell and sample cell are kept communicated with each other. After an eluent has been filled in the reference cell, the communication of the flow passage between the separation column and the sample cell with the reference cell is intercepted by the change-over valve.

  • Patent number: 4094609
Abstract: A high sensitivity absorptiometer comprises a light source lamp accompanied inevitably with heat generation, a sample container through which the light from the light source is transmitted and a detector device for detecting the light which has transmitted through the sample container. The light emitted from the light source lamp and directed to the sample container is adapted to pass through a chamber which is formed fluid-tight on a surface portion of the light source lamp or through a solid state optical conductor such as optical fiber having a light inlet end face closely fitted to the surface portion of the lamp, thereby to suppress movement and turbulence of air as caused by heat generated by the light source lamp with a view to excluding noise and drift ascribable to the air movement or turbulence phenomenon from the signal obtained from the detector device.
